Top 9 Italian food in Los Alamitos, California, United States

Reviews on Italian food in Los Alamitos, California, United States. Los Alamitos ("The Little Cottonwoods" in Spanish) is a small city in Orange County, California. The city was incorporated in March 1960. The population was 11,449 at the 2010 census, down from 11,536 at the 2000 census. It is often mistakenly thought to include the adjacent but unincorporated community of Rossmoor (population just under 11,000), which uses Los Alamitos as its mailing address. The Los Alamitos Race Course is also widely believed to be in the city; although it does have a Los Alamitos postal address and zip code, it actually lies in the neighboring city of Cypress.

Aroma Italiano cafe

I was traveling for business and in the mood for carbonara. Aroma came through with a warm welcome, fast service, and a delicious Fettuccine Carbonara. The chicken was flavorful, plenty of peas, a bit oily, but that didn't stop me from eating the entire bowl. I would like to go back and try some different dishes.

Michael's on Naples

Reviewed By steviegjd

Michael's is a wonderful restaurant. My wife and I have been here at least 10 times, and have had consistently excellent experiences. It is not inexpensive though. So if cost is an issue to you then this should not be your destination. I suspect that most of the negative reviews of Michael's are from trolls who just like to post negative reviews and people who don't want to spend this kind of money to eat dinner. The space is comfortable. The service is impeccable. They source their ingredients from all over the country. We have most often ordered the tasting menu, so you can experience multiple small dishes and really see what they are cooking here. We've only eaten dinner here, so this is not about brunch. We've never come here with a coupon or for some prix fixe dining event, so this is only about Michael's as it is on a daily basis. The owners also have a Piedmont steak restaurant close by (Chianina, which is great, albeit very expensive), several stand alone pizzerias (which are amazing) and an absolutely amazing sandwich shop/local ingredient market/sustainable butcher (Working Class Kitchen). Michael Dene is not of the reasons Long Beach is becoming such a great place to eat wonderful food (not inexpensive or large portion family-style food). The flagship of this group is the terrific Michael's on Naples.

Romano's Macaroni Grill

Reviewed By Ed P

This place is not bad for lunch as they have a $7 special but that is all it is worth. I ordered the Sausage and rigatoni but it was almost all mushrooms. I do not like mushrooms. They were extremely nice and replaced it with the Spaghetti Bolognese but it was not a great sauce but more like tomato sauce. The worst part of the restaurant is that the entrance is facing the street and it is a long walk from the parking lot. Not great if you have bad knees. There is a back door facing the parking lot but is an emergency exit only

Marri's Pizza & Italian Restaurant

Reviewed By Gail G

Marri’s is, for me, another gastronomic time machine, or perhaps more accurately, a sensory one. Just through the doorway the sensation hits by means of the intoxicating aroma wafting through from the kitchen. One whiff and I’m hooked; and no matter how busy they may be, I’m waiting.Service is enthusiastic, sometimes erring on the edge of overly so. Our first visit, we were approached no less than four times within a five minute period to see if we were ready to order. One of our party of three had left for the restroom, so no, we weren’t ready. Mind you, this wasn’t actually a problem—just perhaps a bit overzealous. Worth noting for those who think: great! Fast service! We’re in a hurry! Well, no. Not really. Things won’t be bouncing off your table in record time. Good food takes time. So once you’ve placed your order, you can expect to wait.Hot wings here are mighty tasty, not to mention generously sized, tender and juicy. Fried mozzarella is crunchy and satisfying. For those wondering, a House Salad for Four seems about right portionwise. There were three of us, all pretty big eaters. We ordered the salad for four and had more than two servings apiece. Salad dressing comes to the table in bottle for diners to add as desired. Our first visit we ordered ravioli with meat sauce and cheese bread; both were good though not necessarily noteworthy. But I'm not writing this about any of those other dishes. It's the pizza where Marri’s excels. Ahhhhhhh, that pizza. Both visits we ordered a large sausage, mortadella and mushroom pizza. It arrived deceptively disguised as plain cheese with extra cheese. Underneath the blanket of cheese lay a treasure trove of lovely toppings, some of which actually fell out as I was eating. The sauce wasn’t sweet (I prefer my sauce on the slightly tart end of the spectrum) and was in perfect proportion to the cheese. The sausage was some of the best I’ve ever had (of the crumbly, rather than dense variety.) This is a pizza best eaten by fork; it’s hearty, very filling, and utterly delicious. Just writing about it makes me want to eat it again. Go. Mangia.Marri’s is located in a strip mall on the corner of Stearns and Palo Verde. A lot serves all businesses on the block and space may be at a premium during peak hours. There’s additional street parking on Stearns. Marri’s is gloriously informal, a sawdust-floored throwback to the sixties with roomy booths in the back.

Dominic's Ristorante Italiano

Reviewed By LnS2004

After tasting great pastas during visits to Italy and New York, it’s gratifying to rediscover this unpretentious neighborhood restaurant that serves high caliber, authentic Italian food. It has now been expanded & remodeled to include a new bar and patio tables. The interior is vibrant and cheerful, with a color painting of an idyllic coastal village on an entire wall. Our friends brought a bottle of an excellent wine to kick off a nice evening (corkage $15!). The French onion pizza was done just right, sumptuous and satisfying. Our individual pasta creations (Alla Checca, Arrabbiata, and Basil Pesto) served with garden salads were nicely done and portioned. While the basil pesto sauce was richly creamy & flavorful, the linguine was a tad less al dente than I like. Prices of these creations with add-one ran around $20. Service was very attentive. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.
