We ordered three pizza's as takeaways this evening, all with extra toppings. The restaurant was empty when the order was placed. Only one was assembled correctly. One topping was put on the wrong pizza and we were charged for two toppings that weren't provided. When I phoned from home about this, Bella's solution was that we place the order anew and collect the replacement order!! We had been traveling all day and had last eaten at breakfast, so waiting another hour or so wasn't an option. Their best alternative was that they would give us a discount on the next order we place. Next order? I don't think so.

After hearing wonderful reviews we booked a table for dinner last evening ! On arrival the restaurant was closed!!! They had a contact number for us but there was no notification! What can I say.....Dear Willem, my sincerest apologies for neglecting to contact you. My son unfortunately passed away suddenly and I have been away to to deal with the arrangements of his service. My boyfriend and I visit here regularly, heâs local to Hermanus and Iâm from England. We recently visited to watch the rugby and have our favourite small dish, seafood chowder. The first time we had it, it was just wonderful, hence coming back more! However, just before Christmas we visited for the soup and found a fairly large piece of plastic in the soup. Nothing was really done about it and still when paying the young bar man asked what he should make the bill for. We were definitely not leaving a tip after nothing really being done about the incident. Then on the 15th February we visited again, craving the chowder. We joked and said hopefully no plastic this time! Well low and behold my boyfriend had plastic again in his soup! This clearly is a problem and the head chef really needs to have a word with his co workers. To get a piece of plastic for a second time, something is not right there! Please resolve this situation immediately, because who knows it could happen again.

We needed something good and simple and found Embers on TripAdvisor and how glad were we? It was within easy walking distance of our hotel and although it was busy they managed to fit us in on the balcony.We enjoyed the thinnest, crispiest pizza ever and a yummy bolognaise washed down with a couple of glasses of delicious. Lovely atmosphere and great friendly staff. Every town should have one of these! We loved it.Dear rizzy80, Thank you for your kind review!

Lovely view, friendly waitron but my salad was not too inspiring. I chose the special salmon salad from the blackboard. At R 95 I thought it could have been a little more. My husbands peri peri livers were very good and quite substantial.

We chose to eat here twice in 4 days of our stay in Hermanus it was soooooo good. Fresh Pizzas cooked a proper Pizza oven great service - very generous sized portions of pasta etc and the desserts were awesome including a homemade chocolate lava pudding delicious and as all now hard to perfect... plus a cracking Tiramisu that would feed 3 easy!? When we were there the cricket was on TV so all the family were very happy and fed for a very reasonable price too! Advice is to definitely book as by 7pm they're full 7 days a week its so good the locals fill it themselves...Thankyou for our dinners shame you're so far from the UK!?Thank you very much for your kind review, we're glad you enjoyed your visits. Hopefully not too long until you're in Hermanus again.
