Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Blue Mountains. Although the name suggests otherwise, the Blue Mountains is an actual town in Grey County that consists of several small communities including Thornbury, Christie Beach, Clarksburg, Heathcote and Ravenna. The area is very picturesque and scenic in the summer months and during "apple season" in the autumn, but the town is most famous for its mountains. Tourists flock to Intrawest's Blue Mountain Ski Resort year-round for its wide array of offerings. If you aren't in the mood for skiing or snowboarding, take a stroll through Blue Mountain Village and enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes or a meal in one of the many restaurants located in the village.

Some serious issues with cleanliness, handling money and raw ingredients. Don needs to clean his pans, floor and everything else. Hire some help so he can keep up with orders. Cash only. Pepperoni is poor quality, cheese is good, sauce is sour, crust is homemade and fine. Price is good. Invest in display case so you can sell to kids by the slice. Really like Don though what a character. Takeout only. Maybe panzerotti's are better.

Eatery serving refined Italian cuisine with a focus on local ingredients & fine wines in a homey, elegant atmosphere.
We arrived at this popular spot without a reservation and asked to be seated at the bar. The friendly hostess accommodated us and explained that they were very busy and that drinks would be served immediately but that food could take 20 minutes, which was fine with us. We appreciated her and the other staff doing a great job while very busy. We ordered “catch of the day” which was trout. The menu lists “catch of the day” as always being served with carrot purée and fingerling potatoes. To always accompany a different daily “catch of the day” with the same sides shows lack of creativity. Not all types of fish go with carrot purée and fingerling potatoes. In our case, as we asked for no potatoes and were told they’d add more puréed carrots. The plate arrived with a generous, well seasoned and properly cooked piece of trout. However, the trout sat in a sea of carrot purée which made the fish skin unappealingly limp and the appearance of the dish wasn’t appetizing. We wanted a pasta and chicken fusilli al forno was delicious! Again a generous portion served piping hot. Lovely and cheesy. Note to restaurant: teach staff how to grind pepper over customer orders and make sure there are peppercorns in the pepper mill. Holding a pepper mill horizontally while grinding out no pepper is ineffective. Also, seating at the bar demands better bar stools and tidying up the bar.

A gift certificate for the Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint on First Street in Collingwood is what got us to their front door. We had heard about this restaurant, one of many in this tourist-busy town, but had never visited there even though we live in Collingwood. As we walked into Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint the friendliest greeting ever – in our opinion – greeted us. A receptionist showed us to a booth and the friendliness continued. Our server was Katie and she took our order for Chicken Fettuccine ($16.00) and Porky Pie ($19.00), along with a coffee ($2.25) and a Diet Coke ($2.99). Our drinks were brought to us before our meals arrived and that gave us time to watch what was happening in the largely open-space restaurant, which also has a bar.It seemed to me that people enjoy working here, things were friendly. We enjoyed our meals, but there was quite a bit to the Chicken Fettuccine so my partner opted to take her left-overs home. No problem. A friendly server provided us with a take-away container.Overall the dining experience here was one we would repeat. On our way out to our car, in the parking lot, we met two adults and a youth going in to have some dinner. The man, it turned out, is a major “mover and shaker” in a Canadian restaurant franchise. While we would recommend Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint, it would be interesting to know what that in-coming customer thought of it. If you have never been to Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint, take a few minutes to read through their menu. It's interesting in itself with such things as Queen Pie, Eggs Benny Pie, Beauty Pie and Hedge Hog Pie; just to mention some of the many choices they offer. With tax our total bill came to $45.47 and on their invoice to us they provided a “Gratuity Suggestion Guide” of 18 per cent which equals $7.24. I believe that with the excellent service we found, the staff members at Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint deserve their gratuities.

Five people, five great dinners. We were all impressed by the wide selection of our favourite classic Italians dishes. From the complimentary antipasto tray through several courses, everything was clearly made fresh and inhouse. The staff were very knowlegeable and accomodating.

The Italian food at this tiny place was absolutely amazing! Downtown prices but really good. The service a little odd. The waitress and waiter acted as if it was their first day on the job. It really seemed as though they are definitely dating. Wine is quite pricey so when it was served in a small glass we were taken back. Firstly it was definitely not a 5 oz pour and secondly if the glass of wine is $18 then it should be served in a proper glass! Will go back on corkage night and bring our own wine and glasses.

True to the Italian markets that inspired Magnone's, guests are greeted by a celebration of fresh ingredients that capture the essence of the kitchens of Italy. Boasting an open market feel, the rustic eatery spans two levels, allowing guests to enjoy Ita
The food was good but when I went to pay my bill the waitress charged me 18% gratuity for the size of my party. Which was only 5 people. It is printed on the menu 18% gratuity customary for parties of 6 or more. "Once I realized that I went back and asked why I was charged the 18% for 5 people which was a $42.00 gratuity when it is printed on the menu for parties of 6 or more. She told me they have changed the rules but haven't reprinted the menus. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. She did offer to process a refund so I could change the tip and I excepted the refund and changed the tip amount. I just felt very offended and taken advantage of. I live in Toronto and have been to many restaurants which I have never been expected to pay a customary gratuity for a family dinner of 5 people. I would not go back or recommend this restaurant for families.Hi Michele,Thank you for sharing your concerns. I'm shocked to hear about this as it is not our standard at all for groups less than 6 people. Could you let me know the date that you dined with us so that I can follow up correctly? Our email is [email protected]. Thank you!

Okay, so my 3rd review on this place. No "real" dessert then a great one now none! What is going on? Don't you get it? Ice cream doesn't do it.We just came from a lovely, delicious, perfectly presented and prepared Branzino dinner. As always, staff is terrific with Julianna manager and server Peter. Sitting outdoors on a gorgeous summer evening, dinner was beautiful. Summer colors, sunlight enhancing the entree and wine. But then, no decent dessert???Quite honestly, this is my favorite restaurant in the area but I will seriously consider not going any more because dinner is incomplete w/o dessert. When spending $38 for the entree and to get an offer of chocolate ice cream for dessert??? Weird. You don't get it.So, I plead yet again. Get your act together. I am woman and don't know any woman who does't love chocolate.Hello Karen,It's always a pleasure to serve you here at Fabbrica Thornbury. Please know that I will take your request for chocolate very seriously! We do have a fabulous Pavlova and lovely Ricotta Fritters on our dessert repertoire. But I understand, A lady sometimes just needs chocolate.I will do everything in my power to ensure you have that chocolate the next time you visit. We look forward to your return. All the best,[email protected]

Family friendly restaurant with a varied menu sure to please everyone in your group. Family owned, locally focused, community oriented.
The food was great and even our picky eater children enjoyed it. Small, quiet, clean restaurant with friendly atmosphere. The portions were quite big.

Went with friends to Blue and lunched here. Pizza was delish. Tried the "May the Schwartz Be With You" with Montreal smoked meat, pickles and mustard. Delicious and just like a smoked meat sandwich on a pizza crust. The crust waslight and tasty. Others tried different pizzas. Be aware that there is no individual size pizza se two of us shared and that made the meal cost very reasonable. Waitress was very personable. I would go back there.
