In La Toscana we have 15 years of experience, and we are constantly innovating our menu, we now have a fixed menu and additionally use a specialty menu of the month depending on season. We handle the highest quality in our ingredients to make delicious di
We crossed La Toscana, a lovely restaurant with excellent service, located in Jalatlaco just a few blocks east of El Llano Park, off our list last year after management installed several, perpetually-on, flat screen TVs, and started playing an annoying mix of mostly American top 40. We returned to see if there had been any changes and, alas, the TVs are still on (no sound at least) and the waiter turned down the music when we requested it, in the nearly empty restaurant. The restaurant itself is so lovely and elegant that the TVs and music are very discordant. Classical, or Oaxacan music, would be much more fitting. Sit at a table on the right side, away from the speakers and TVs to lessen the impact. That said, we tried the pizza for the first time and enjoyed it. The pizza caprese was large enough for two people to share, and had a very nice sauce, slices of mozzarela, pepperoni, halved grape tomatoes, fresh basil, and olive oil. The crust was very thin and crispy after baking in a wood fired oven. La Toscana provides a large bread basket of interesting artesanal rolls and bread sticks, with herbed butter and two salsas. The waiter brought us a bowl of freshly grated parmesan cheese when we requested it (no charge). Last year, there was a charge (unstated on the menu) for the bread basket. There wasn't yesterday, and the breads really are lovely. Service is very attentive. We always used to get the steaks but decided on the pizza yesterday afternoon. The menu selections have changed so I can't report on any other current choices. Prices are high, equal to or higher than Casa Oaxaca and Los Danzantes, but, in the past, food quality and presentation very quite good. Pizzas are a good value: the Caprese was 117 pesos. On Sundays, the restaurant is open until 7:00 Pm, so it's an option on a day when many other restaurants are closed.

We passed by here and heard a woman singing with a guitarist accompanying her so decided to call in for a mescal cocktail each. Nice surroundings and especially enjoyed the poem on the ceiling and the quotes from writers and poets around the walls. Relaxing place and looked like it was popular with locals. Service was quite slow but it was Ok as the music was enjoyable.

Great food, cocktails and ice cold beer. Theme nights a few times per week.
Stopped by for a couple of cervesas and margaritas. The beer was cold and the fans were blowing. Margaritas were smooth and flavourful.Owner was quirky and definitely recommends Hurricane divers for fishing but the guy who was at the next table selling his tour to a group didn't have enough English for me to fish with (but that's another story and Rick would do well to remember that some of us gringos can speak Spanish)... but the beer was good and it was a quick stop that hit the spot

While in a Oaxaca, there are soooo many different places to eat but a good vegetarian/ vegan place is hard to find. This was by far one of my favorites! We had the vegetarian three course meal. Including the soup of the day, which consisted of carrots, squash and walnuts. Great energy and the team was so sweet. Absolutely fell in love! Totally recommend this place.

Calabacitas Tiernas is a vegetarian restaurant offering delicious, healthy meals prepared with seasonal ingredients from local Oaxacan sources.
I was rather dissapointed with the meals we had here. We had the vegan curry, which was bland and boring. The vegan stuffed pepper was a weird combination which did not work in my opinion. The grilled queso fresco was fine, however we asked to get it as a starter to share and It was the last item to reach our table. There are meat options just in case you don't want to eat vegeterian at a vegeterian restaurant. Hola! muchas gracias por tu opinión, la tomaremos en cuanta para mejorar nuestros servcicio!. Solo que las fotos que subiste no son de nuestro espacio. Gracias!

Los Paco's 7 Moles enhance and magnify the culinary fusion with the variety of flavours, colors and ingredients within. Oaxacan 7 Moles are product of the evolution of Mexican history culture where food is now considered as UNESCO intangible cultural heri
4 of us enjoyed dinner enormously. We were greeted by Laura, the owner and mole maker. The space is beautiful, lovely low background music, attentive staff. But best was the food. Laura explained each of the 7 moles as we tasted samples. She lovingly makes them from her mother's recipes. The mole coloradito is cooked for parts of 5 days. She suggested what each was best with. We decided on 4 which they brought 2 at a time for us to share and appreciate. You could order one at a time if you wish, and keep ordering until you were full!. Finished with one flan to share. Delightful!

Delicious! Both my friend and I got chicken dishes, paired with green veggies, option of potatoes or rice and a side salad. The chicken was juicy and moist. Accompanied with salsas. Very good and filling for $110 pesos. Definitely recommend for a healthy and filling meal. The chef and waitress were super friendly and both explained the meal of the day. Pleasantly surprised! And full!!

Modern Mexican in the Heart of Historic Oaxaca. Tasting Menus with Reservations (Tues - Sun). Rooftop Bar with Casual Fare.
We arrived here on hotel recommendation. Perhaps we arrived on an off night, yet there were limited food choices on the menu. I am vegetarian, and trip advisor had this restaurant listed as vegan and vegetarian. We could not find much on the menu. One other side note, the area in which they sat us had a distinct smell of animal hide/leather. Not a good place for a vegetarian.
