Fast becoming a popular watering hole for locals, and the food ainât half bad either!A bunch of friends met here for lunch and they were offering a beer and burger special that was really good value for money. A tasty and hearty burger with chips and there were interesting toppings to choose from. Will definitely be returning for a repeat sometime soon

Be warned - these are addictive. Go straight for the double dozen, so many fancy options all so delicious and tasty. Made fresh, you cannot walk past without popping it. Nice big store compared to the JHB stores, so nice seating area inside and out to chill for a few minutes and enjoy.

If you are looking for silver service, white table cloths and a wine library, this is the place for you. We had a delicious meal here in a party of six. They mixed amazing cocktails and the food was presented splendidly and was delicious. There was a wide range of starters available from nachos to prawns. The mains 8ncluded an amazing rack of ribs. All in all a restaurant for a special occasion or just because you want a treat!

Hussar Grill 10/08/2019Went to Hussar Grill for lunch with family at Gateway. The restaurant was fairly empty and we could choose any seat. We perused the menu and firstly ordered drinks (my glass was dirty and I requested a clean one). We waited a long time for the drinks to arrive... Placed our food orders, and the waiting game began. Eventually our food arrive (Kingklip x2, Pork Belly and Fillet). I had the 600g pork belly, which was good but very rich for my palate. Food was good, but the service was not that good......Dear Itguyjhb,Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. While we are thrilled to know you enjoyed the food served, we are disappointed to hear about your service experience and dirty glass. We would like the opportunity to redeem ourselves, if you could kindly provide us with your contact details and well as this review to [email protected] we will be in contact with you as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you soon.Kind regards,The Hussar Grill

We discovered 14 on Chartwell last year during our holiday in Umhlanga Rocks and had a memorable meal. But then we discovered their heavenly Dom Pedros and we were hooked. So you guessed right. During our holiday in April 2019 we paid 14 on Chartwell a compulsory visit to have Dom Pedros. We were greeted by friendly staff members at the door and placed our order. We were served within minutes and as we took our first sips the familiar exquisite taste reminded us why we will keep coming back. This is without a doubt the best Dom Pedros we ever had. We cannot wait to go back next year.Thank you for your wonderful comments, we look forward to your next visit.

We only booked that morning for a large group of 12 but they were able to accommodate us. Despite the size of the group, the service was excellent and the meat was delicious. I had a meat sharing platter for two which was a delicious and more varied than it sounds. The whole group enjoyed meals across the menu and. All washed down with some red wine recommended by the waiter. Fun place. Thanks for the fabulous review @PFTraveller62 - delighted to hear you had a great meal with us and hope to see you back again soon.

Good atmosphere and great service from waiter (Musa) , the prawn dish prepared at the table by the talented chef was delicious but the steak fillet was dry and warm.(Not sure if this is standard restaurant pricing but a 60R glass of wine seemed pricey when compared to the exact same wine at the supermarket for 65R/bottle)Dear Theog751Thank you kindly for taking the time to complete a trip advisor review regarding your recent visit to our Sugar Club Restaurant.Your feedback is most appreciative and will be pass on to the team. Grill Room at the Oyster Box Hotel.
Thereâs an old fashioned elegance to the Grill Room â the chandelier, the starched linen, the waiters dressed in their very retro uniforms. Even the menu includes what you wished were more universal timeless classics. One was something definitely out of fashion in the UK â an hors dâoeuvres trolley. We couldnât recall seeing one in the last 40 years â it was a meal with my father (and he died in 1975). We did remember how good they were. And this was an absolute cracker. There must have been at least 20 different salads, meats and seafood to choose from. Another retro things was the sorbet that arrived next â lychee and pineapple, although both flavours were very muted. We followed that with another classic â chateaubriand â one of the items on the âGueridon trolley serviceâ section of the menu. Itâs an enormous piece of meat, accurately cooked as requested and carved and plated at the table. Thereâs a bit of showmanship, with brandy being poured over and flamed before carving. And thereâs an array of vegetables to go with it â asparagus, courgette, carrot, cauliflower, broccoli and baby sweetcorn. And a very well made potato dauphinoise. And some pan juices to drizzle over and an excellent béarnaise sauce. This had been a lot of food and only one of us felt they had room for dessert. The menu described it as âcaramel apple sphereâ. This was disappointing, with no real flavour of caramel and precious little of apple. Nor was it a sphere, unless they meant the blob of ice cream. This could have been good if only there had been a good twang from apple and richness from caramel but this just tasted of a generic sweetness. It all made me later wonder if Iâd actually been served the dessert Iâd ordered.Service was generally good but there was a quibble. The Grill Room is one of the places where, if you order a bottle of water, they donât leave it on the table. Now, thatâs OK if the waiters are âon the ballâ and top up your glass regularly. That didnât happen here and we had to keep asking for the bottle. And the second bottle we ordered, while still eating the main course, didnât arrive until after weâd finished eating dessert.
