We visited here as a family with young children as we were staying at the nearby Doubletree. We called in without a booking and got a table straight away. It was fairly early in the evening and there were two other tables and from what we could see just the one waiter. People came in for collections too so they were always busy. This is a BYO (bring your own) alcohol and they donât have a corkage fee either which is good.We ordered everything and asked for it to be brought together, the portion sizes were generous too. We asked for a mild chicken curry to introduce the children to Indian food and this was no problem for them. Another waiter joined sand the staff were friendly to the children too which is always nice.Overall, if we stay here again weâd probably visit this restaurant again.

The Spice Mahal is a bit off of the beaten track on the Wotton Road but it is well worth a visit. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the staff give good service and the food was excellent. I will be back soon.

We are a family run Gurkha Resturant located in Woolaston with family friendly bar and garden where you can enjoy your food or drinks. Plenty of space for kids to play around in the garden.
Two friends and I had lunch at the Ghurka Restaurant last Sunday following a recommendation from an ex-work colleague. We were not disappointed following the 40 miinute drive from Gloucester. The welcome was warm and the food was fantastic. The shame is that it is quite a distance from where we live - we will return but if it was closer I can imagine that we would visit a couple of times a month at least. Sadly when we visited, until 20 minutes before leaving, we were the only people in the restaurant - although we obviously received one on one service. The Ghurka restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We will be back. Well done to the chef and waiting staff.

We had a family meal in the restaurant and not only was the service, prompt and friendly but the food was so tasty! Portion sizes were huge so very satisfied. Curry had a lot of flavour and the nan-bread was the best I've had in ages. Decent prices. Can't wait to eat here again!
