Reviews on Indian food in Papamoa, North Island, New Zealand. Papamoa Beach is a suburb of Tauranga, located about 11 kilometres from the city centre. It is the largest residential suburb in Tauranga, having a population of 20,091 at the 2013 census. It is bordered to the west by Mount Maunganui (east of Sunrise Avenue and Hibiscus Avenue), the east by the Kaituna River (separating it from the Western Bay of Plenty District) and to the south by State Highway 2. Papamoa Beach has 16km of white sandy beach stretching from the boundary with Mount Maunganui in the west to the Kaituna River in the east. Widespread settlement of the area did not start until the early 1980s and prior to this Papamoa Beach had been largely a rural area. Once a small and tight knit community, many of Papamoa Beach's sweeping paddocks have been swallowed up by urban development. Papamoa Beach is currently one of the fastest growing suburbs of Tauranga, with many different subdivisions developing concurrently on different blocks of land on the fringes of the suburb.

After we have visited all the Indian restaurants in Tauranga, Papamoa and the Mount, we still continue to return to Smart India. I usually order a dairy free veggie curry which is the best and my partner loves their butter chicken. The main waiter is amazing, he remembers our order every time!

It was a cold and dark Tauranga night and my wife and I wanted some Indian comfort food and we certainly got it from Talk of India. The Tandoori chicken and biriyani was excellent and the friendly staff (family run business) made it completely worth it! Would love to visit again one day.
So many choices for lunch or dinner, a bite on the run or a relaxing coffee or two. Papamoa Plaza Food Court is open daily from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm with offers to suit all tastes and a variety of seating options for all ages and groups large or small.
This food court is an amazing space, it has a toddlers play area, private eating booths or just open plan seating. There is alot of food on offer, from Pita pit, Mexican, burgers, Tank ,Sushi and some others. Its family friendly and affordable.Hi, thanks for your review of the Papamoa Plaza food court. We are happy to hear you had a great dining experience. We agree there are some great food options to choose from.

This restaurant is no longer a stand-alone venue but part of the Papamoa Plaza foodcourt. Thankfully the food is just as quality as the former restaurant (we were really scared it would be runny and stale from sitting in trays all day long), but without the nice touches of the former venue. We have to collect the food from the counter - no table service, and the sizzlng platter entree is no longer on the sizzling platters which means it gets cold quicker. :-( We still dine here as they have had a $45 dinner special which is $15+ cheaper than the same at other restaurants, but it's not such a 'special' event anymore, ie, I would not recommend for special birthdays or occasions as the venue is less private and although new and modern/clean, will lack ambience.

An extensive menu which includes goat meat. That demonstrates authentic Indian cooking. Goat curry is exceptionally good - tastes better than lamb and more tender. They provide a takeaway service as well as restaurant. Pays to book as they get very busy. Again a sign of great food. 8/10 for the food and service.

We are Authentic Indian cuisine provider. We do takeaways, dine in and delivery also. We would say we are the cheapest one on this area.
One of the best, if not THE best, Indian meals Iâve ever had, and Iâve had a few! The quality of the food, together with great prices and service, make this a wonderful experience.
