At Bahia Rica you will be staying in big comfortable rooms in a real jungle setting. The place is perfect for relaxing in a hammock and enjoying the jungle sounds, or you can get some exercise by taking a kayak tour or walking up along the jungle paths. A relaxed atmosphere is surrounding Bahia Rica, with common areas for eating and socializing. Bahia Rica is at Punta Cuchillo on Costa Rica’s west coast. The place is perfect for people who enjoy a calm atmosphere away from the main tourist trails. We offer sport fishing, kayak and boat tours to several beautiful destinations in the Nicoya gulf.
We stayed one night and did the bioluminescence tour. The accommodation was amazing, real back to nature treehouse living with outdoor kitchen and living arrangements. The tour was really well run and experiencing the bioluminescence up close was one I will never forget, so sparkly. Tom and Vigdis were perfect hosts and it was really interesting to spend time with them and learn about their experience of living in Costa Rica. Would recommend channelling your inner Robinson Crusoe and spend some time at this amazing property.

Finding an ideal luxury hotel in Paquera does not have to be difficult. Welcome to Vista Las Islas Hotel, a nice option for travelers like you. Guest rooms offer a flat screen TV, a refrigerator, and air conditioning, and Vista Las Islas Hotel makes getting online easy as free wifi is available. You can also take advantage of some of the amenities offered by the hotel, including a concierge and a sun terrace. In addition, guests can enjoy a pool and free breakfast during their visit. As an added convenience, there is free parking available to guests. While in Paquera, you may want to check out the nearby Spanish restaurant Marisquería Las Vegas. Vista Las Islas Hotel puts the best of Paquera at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.
I wholeheartedly rate the Vista Las Islas Hotel as “Excellent” based on the location, restaurant and service for the price paid. We had not expected to stay here, but did so at the last minute after leaving an unsatisfactory hotel in Santa Teresa early. What a pleasant comeback after a bad experience. We were impressed by the many surprise-and-delight touches that the hotel offered. The setting is spectacular overlooking the bay coastline towards Tortuga Island. The room was pleasant and had a balcony. The location is five minutes away from the Paquera ferry across the Nicoya Golf which you can book online. I highly recommend taking this very relaxing and scenic ferry ride which we used to get back to San Jose. Others have commented about the road up to the place which is rough and typical of many CR roads, but it is entirely doable in a 2WD car if you take it slow. The service was exemplary. The young Swiss woman (Anja) at the front desk was charming and helpful in so many ways. I particularly appreciated her help in making the online reservation for the ferry. Once we arrived we were given a delicious lemon-mango smoothie while our luggage was taken to the room. The room was decorated with fresh flowers from the gardens on the property. Dinner and breakfast in their restaurant was another pleasant surprise. Restaurants in small hotels like this are often not that great. Quite the opposite here. The dinner commenced with the waiter serving a mango ceviche amuse-bouche. We had the Costa Rican casado and the Mahi Mahi for dinner which was well prepared and tasty. The buffet breakfast surprises included a special batido de guanabana (guava smoothie) made from the fruit on the property and a very tasty cinnamon chia pudding. The attention to detail and level of cuisine were at a level that you would expect in an expensive, upscale restaurant in San Jose. To sum up, while we stayed in several much more expensive properties (e.g., Andaz in Papagayo) on this our fourth trip to CR, the Vista las Islas Hotel offered to us one of the most satisfying experiences we have had and would highly recommend it.

Manito's House is a rural rustic lodging located at Punta Cuchillo, Paquera. We are immersed in a protected area, wooded, full of quiet for people that likes to relax. We are "ticos" making the best that we can do to introduce you at an exclusive corner of Peninsula de Nicoya, in front of Jesucita and Cedros Island. We have a beach to 100 meters from the lodge (5 minutes walking) with calm and clear water, surrounded by mountains and almost exclusive used by our guest. Our restaurant is based in the traditional typical Costa Rican food, basically taking advantage over the fresh marine product offered by the fishers of the area.
Carolina and Diego are the most gracious hosts. We stayed here while doing the bioluminescence tours at Bahia Rica just down the road. The rooms are very basic but comfortable and clean, ours had a nice deck to sit out on and drink our coffee while viewing the gardens and listening to the nearby wildlife. There was also a fridge and coffee maker. We had a bit of time between our SUP and bioluminescence tours, so took advantage of the fact that Diego is a great cook. He whipped us up a lovely meal and accommodated the vegetarian within this couple. Our breakfast the next morning was huge and scrumptious and our coffee cup had no bottom. I have no hesitation recommending a stay here!

It is a new concept of accommodation in the area of Paquera, where you can interact with different cultures to be a place of visitors of different nationalities. Located just 6 kilometers from Paquera Ferry Terminal. The Hostel offers Tour Information such as Tortuga Island Tour, Quesera Beach Tour, Coral Point or why not, rent a Kayak, Paddle Board and be part of a unique activity in the area.
My favorite place I stayed in all Costa Rica!! And the best hosts i had the chance to meet. I can't thank enough José and Pepe for making me feel home and part of their family! As a solo traveller, i always appreciate when hosts consider you not as a tourist but as a person with who they genuinely want to share their culture and want to show their country. They helped me in organizing my tours and I could taste the delicious food they prepared. I wish to come back one day, I loved Paquera, there are many things to discover around and the area remains authentic with amazing people.

I had the pleasure of facilitating a 4 day retreat program at Playa Los Vivos and the entire experience was absolutely magical. First of all, the hosts were amazing. They were kind and generous and made us all feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Second, the more than human world was mind-blowing: my personal favorite was seeing the milky way like a brushstroke across the sky, dotted with shooting stars, above the majesty of bioluminescent waters. The beach, hills, the reefs and the waters were perfect for a diversity of nature experiences all within a few minutes walk. No shoes required! And the accommodations and food! The tents were super comfortable, the meals were incredible, and anything that we needed was provided in short order. A million thanks to Heart and his family; I hope I will be able to return many times :)

While you relax in our common sitting area you're able to spot different types of wildlife such as the scarlet macaw, iguanas, hummingbirds, butterflies, squirrels ect. Further, we offer a shared kitchen where you are able to cook yourself a nice meal, free Wi-Fi and parking. In a not to far distance from the hotel is playa Organos, Playa Quesera and Wildlife Refuge Curu. Tours to the famous Isla Tortuga with snorkeling and or a Bioluminiscent boot tour are offered by ourselfs. All our rooms are provided with a wall-fan and do have an outdoor sitting area. We offer daily housekeeping, a Tico breakfast 'Gallo Pinto' for a small fee or we can help you to set up any activity or transport.
This place was a gem! The accommodations were clean and simple, lovely common areas to relax and the birds voices incredible. The tour to Isle Tortuga was outstanding! Loved that we were escorted by a local and not a large tour company. The beaches are beautiful and felt like our own private island. Inge and Juan are fabulous, friendly, and fun hosts. I highly recommend this place! Loved it!

All 16 units have private bathrooms, AC, mini-fridge, cable TV, Wi-Fi, pool, daily housekeeping, and BBQ picnic area; all rooms have local cuisine menus that deliver. Plenty of parking for cars, even buses or large trucks. In addition to the cabins, we now have The Cozy Casita, a 2B/1B House, for 4 People. Having all the basics of an equipped kitchen: silverware, dinnerware, refrigerator, gas stove and oven with other small electrical appliances. It has AC and ONLY Hot water in the shower and price includes mid-week housekeeping along with towel change when needed at office. We're about 7KM to Reserve that offer optional tours, to Quesera Beach or Tortuga Island and can include on the way snorkel or scuba, they also have the night bioluminescence tours. Those tours are also offered by others in town along with seasonal whale/dolphin watching, Island hopping and sports fishing. Beaches nearby: Cuchillo Paquera(Organos), Pochote, Pajaros, Margarita and Tambor Beach.
This place is located just on the border of central Paquera. If you don't have a car it can be a little tricky to get around so make sure that you ask someone for the number of a taxi driver once you get there. All the people working at Mapi's Cabins were very kind and super helpful. The water pressure was almost non-existent and the floor tiles in our room were all lose and breaking. All of these things didn't really matter in the end. The place is a little run down but you probably won't be spending too much time at the hotel. There are just so many beautiful places to visit in Paquera and Curu Park. There are also some good restaurants within walking distance from Mapi's.

I absolutely loved this hotel. If your looking for a great relaxing get away and enjoy nature this hotel is for you. The hotel staff was the friendliness and welcoming. The views are breath taking. I have been to Costa Rica many times and I try some place different each time. I wish I would have found this hotel sooner. I will say this. Once you get off the ferry you drive up and the gps says make a left. You look at your driver and scream no no wrong road. It’s the right road lol. Then your little car will climb to the top to find a very steep drive on the left again. That will be the hotel entrance The view. That’s all I can say. The monkeys howling in the trees is so nice. You can see all the islands from to the mountain A couple of the photos are from a tour we took where the ferry drops you off. You can book tours at hotel
