Otorohanga Kiwi Holiday Park is the closest Holiday Park to the CBD. Enjoy a leisurely stroll to town facilities, through the neighbouring lake reserve. We are a family owned and operated holiday park and have enjoyed extending nature through out our grounds. Starting with bare land over 23 years ago, nature was utmost important in our design. The 20 year old trees are now the benefit of guests, to enjoy plenty of shade in the summer and shelter in the winter. Enjoy the chatter of birds in the evenings and mornings. Explore the glow worms and adventure caving at Waitomo and see our native birds, kiwi at the nocturnal breading sanctuary in Otorohanga. Our park continues to grow, so keep watching for our new developments continually happening. Otorohanga Kiwi Holiday Park has a range of accommodation options, from fully self-contained units to campsites. Large bus and campervan sites with easy access. The camping ground facilities include unmetered showers, large indoor/outdoor dining room with FREE BBQ, TV lounge, Sky TV, Wireless internet, and children's playground. Walking distance to the town's shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. You'll find our Waitomo accommodation just 45 minutes south of Hamilton City with the famous Hamilton Gardens and Balloons over Hamilton, or a 50 minute drive to Kawhia beach. Otorohanga Holiday Park is also pet-friendly. The only accommodation and camping for your pet in the Waitomo and Otorohanga area. Rules for owners do apply.
We had a one night stop here en route elsewhere and it was just the ticket. Super friendly staff (we had an upgrade on our booking.) The unit was spacious, lovely and clean with comfortable beds. They gave us a great recommendation for dinner too (The Thirsty Weta.) The pool and spa pool were lovely. Yes, the road is noisy with the trucks trundling past but it didn't affect our sleep.

I stayed here for one night in April 2022. The motel is well located on the main street opposite Countdown, and just a few minutes' walk from the main shops and restaurants. The room was large and clean, and the wifi worked very well. The bathroom and kitchen had the usual amenities. There is on-site parking. I'll stay here again if revisiting Otorohanga.

When booking in with a credit card we were requested to add a bond which we refused. The rooms had aluminium deck chairs for inside furnature so was not that comfortable. The room was clean however the door is secured by one of those 1970's 2 leaver locks where everyone used to get burgled as there is only 7 different combinations. I did not feel that sefe particularly as Otorahanga is close to the prison complexes. The internet is by vouchers which provides a teaspoon of data. Thouogh it was stated to be sufficient the data was drained in 2.5 minutes using Facebook. The shower is one of those two tap design with a stainless steel pan floor and provided a measly amount of water. I decided to check out early and stay elsewhere. I visited the pool and noted the child proof gate did not close and latch on its own as per the safe pool fencing requirements. I do not see a return visit here happening any time soon.

Liz and Evan are fabulous and generous hosts and understand the commitment required to run a luxury B&B. The little extras are 5-star and the hospitality best to none. Would absolutely recommend, is the sort of B&B to sit and breathe and rest and soak up the views, thanks again Liz and Evan we had a fabulous stay and highly recommend.

I had been looking forward to spending time on a working dairy farm, but our stay at this place far exceeded my expectations. The private cottage is a gem, cozy and designed with great thoughtfulness. Hosts Marain and Noel Hurley greeted us and were patient and friendly, answering our many questions about New Zealand farming. They welcomed us to stroll through their breathtaking property, where the next morning we also met and chatted with their tenant dairy farmer, Brent. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful, we were sorry to leave after only one night. One other note: the breakfast provided in the cottage also was exceptional, particularly the wonderful yogurt and muesli. Our time here will surely rank among the highlights of our entire New Zealand travels.

Very well located near the Glowworm Caves and other attractions. Clean, reasonable sized rooms with ensuite, attached to private residence. Very helpful owner, great views of the area from the garden. Breakfast was in-room (in refrigerator), which was okay but wi-fi only worked when sitting at the picnic area, not in room. Overall, a very good place to stay for a reasonable rate.

Booked very short notice, nothing was a problem. Very comfy bed and private surroundings, great for office work. Right on main road but was nice and quiet. Really good shower and there was a friendly cat as well.
