A 1926 planter's bungalow beautifully restored and expanded in 2013, run as a boutique hotel. Located on a working tea and rubber estate with fabulous authentic Sri Lankan food and a chance to explore village and estate life on foot or by bike. Local markets, Pinawella elephant orphanage, temples and a tea factory are all easily accessible. Stunning views for miles of forested hills in the central region of Sri Lanka. Perfect for relaxing with a book from our extensive library by the pool or on the front terrace. We welcome families. All bedrooms & Suites are fully air conditioned. The newly opened Rock Villa offer 2 self contained suites or when taken together a 2500 square foot private villa. Our Spa Pavillion offers a range of relaxing and rejunvinating spa treatments and daily complimentary yoga. Reviewed By Jackie WOur second visit this year! We decided to return to recharge our batteries for a 7 day stay. When you need to recuperate this is the place to do it. Peace and quiet, early morning yoga, massage and excellent local food with some western dishes too if required. One notable dish was Moda (sea bass) with a butter sauce. The presentation and taste worthy of a Michelin Star! We had a cookery lesson and produced our own lunch one day. Learning about the correct way to use spices in preparing local dishes has encouraged me to attempt to make them at home. We arrived on the Sinhala New Year. The shops were closed and the streets quiet as we travelled from Columbo. Each holiday celebrated by Hindu, Buddhist,Muslin and Christian is celebrated by all. They have 25 days of public holidays. That night we enjoyed a firework display curtesy of the families in the valley. Neil and Farzana , our hosts, also arranged a display. It was very special. As we drove to the hotel from Columbo shops were closed and the streets were quiet because it was a holiday not because the shops had no food and couldn’t open as reported in some of the British press. This small country is experiencing hardship with prices escalating for food and fuel. There are severe fuel shortages with local’s having to queue sometimes for hours. There were power cuts each day usually lasting no more than two hours. It didn’t feel like a hardship outside of the hotel and Rosyth has its own generator that kicked in when needed. The views here added to the tranquility that we desired this trip and the caring and attentive staff were wonderful once again. Please don’t be put off by the economic woes of this country or the reported demonstrations there is no danger. We saw students quietly protesting with banners saying ‘pay back the money that you stole’. This is a wonderful country with as much cultural and wildlife experiences as you could ask for. This country needs tourism to survive.

Perfect place in Kegalle for parties and fine dining!
Reviewed By Tharshanan KI have been living in Kegalle for the past 4 years and this hotel is one of my usual dining spot. The have a very nice location with ample parking spaces. The building and architecture is attractive with all white coloured walls. They have a restaurant, party halls and a small pool. In between the main building and the pool there is a natural stream running and it adds more feel on rainy days. Their menu at the restaurant is a massive one. The portions are well adequate for the price, and tasty too. They have an excellent buffet everyday for an unbelievably cheap price. This is an excellent place to stop by for dining if you are on the way to Kandy or to Colombo.

Horrible experience
Reviewed By ajithgamageI did the booking via booking.com and when I reach the place they were telling they are fully booked and they missed to do the cancellation in the booking .com site. At that time was 10PM and I was with my kid . very disappointing and not recommending any one to do the booking this place.

Reviewed By RanilMountLaviniaWhen we go out of Colombo, we drop in at their awanhala/wayside restaurant to have our breakfast and to have tea or lunch on our way back to Colombo. This time too we did the same and going out of Colombo after the pandemic. Compared with other fast food outlets, it is expensive but ok with us. This time their short eats were merely bland and the bread roll of the egg bun was somewhat not fresh. Worst part is we dropped around 2.30 on our way to Colombo to have some sandwiches (many thanks to the Sungreen Resort, we had a nice breakfast and were not fully hungry). Since there no sandwiches at the awanhala, we crossed the road and reached their main restaurant to have some tea with club sandwiches (couple of years ago, it was good). I don't think I can describe it as club sandwiches, but mini vegetable sandwiches stuffed with salad leaves and Bombay onions with a small thinly cut piece of tomato and a very small piece of ham. But it was nicely decorated and bulked with potato chips. The tea pot also contained more tea, but less milk. Completely an eye sore and a rip off. However very price by local standards. Those so called club sandwiches rubbish was Rs 765.63. Now that these hotels have been taken over by the Galle Face Hotel group, they should provide a quality service in terms of many aspects. They should not rip off any customer whether local or foreign. Avoid this place
