Reviewed By Sarah_Razza_HallWe were attending a friend's birthday party along the Rhine promenade and booked this hotel as it was within walking distance of the venue. However, much to our dismay and shock, when we arrived at the hotel we were informed we had to stay elsewhere as we had been double booked. We were not informed of this before our arrival, nor were we offered an apology. In fact, the manager was quite aggressive towards us and seemed to think he'd done us a favour by organising another hotel for us. The hotel we had to stay at was 8km away which meant paying for taxis in and out town. This was a totally upsetting, unacceptable and avoidable situation. If there is a double booking the least you owe your customers is an email way in advance explaining why. Some of our party were really upset by this experience and it put a dampener on the entire weekend. Never stay here. It isn't worth the hassle. There are plenty of better hotels (and ones that don't double book) in Emmerich. Terrible.

Chilled out while watching the Boats go by
Reviewed By nhealesTwo nights and I wish I could stay for longer. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Great location to watch the boats go by on the Rhein. No air-conditioning so windows open and "un-natural" sleeping may be needed in the summer. Clean and tidy rooms, no tea or coffee in the room but a great cup in the restaurant/café below.

Reviewed By PdV_on_tourHotel Wanders is an OK, family hotel in Elten. I found it on recommendation of distant friend. And from the website, I got a good impression. Reservation by Phone was Easy (they speak German and Dutch, close to the border). Finding it was easy: centre of town. And check-in was simple and smooth. There is a private parking, which is always greatly appreciated to store the motorcycle. The (single) room was Good, Quality bedding but a little soft. A small desk to sit and work, and a good shower. But wifi, hm.. Internet speed was very typical for german-countryside (e.g. you get 2 Mbps on the good moments, and occasionally a timeout or a no-response). You also have to re-logon a few times?? Why does it seem the quality of the wifi (actually, of the broadband, in Germany is getting worse instead of better ? Phone tethering worked slightly better, most of the time. Evening meal: I tried to get a snack or a light evening meal in the restaurant. The Restaurant is ok, but be there early, kitchen closes at 2100 (we are close the the dutch border, ppl eat early there). The evening menu is ok, it is very German, and you should not ask too many questions. The choices for starters and desserts were limited. Service is a bit brusk, especially if you ask too many questions, if you are late (20:45) and possibly if you are the sole single person, and at 50+ years old, you are also the youngest person in the restaurant. Don’t be a bother. And dessert was ice-cream-only. Sleep was good. Breakfast is OK, and it starts at 0800. If, like me, you want to use the early hours of the morning to ride quietly or to make good progress in light traffic, you have to be patient. For me it was a late start, and I lost at least an hour of good riding. (It is on my checklist: ask what time is breakfast, but sometimes I forget to ask…) Checkout was smooth, payment by card was not a problem. All in all an OK hotel, but you have to fit the “profile” (elderly tourists?) and don’t ask too many questions.

I like the architecture of this place. The owner and his wife are super friendly and the breakfast is fantastic - I skipped lunch today ;-)

Reviewed By kit9600Pre booked into this hotel by work. Hard to find but on arrival had a very warm welcome. I was driving a large works van that would not fit in the small car park (room for 5 cars only) but the owner kindly moved her own car from her private drive to allow me to park. Very friendly but also very basic. Clean and tidy. Apple devises will not connect to the free wifi but all others do? Owner confirmed she is trying to resolve this. All in all I wouldn't stay here myself but it's a clean comfortable and friendly hotel.

Reviewed By Gilbert PPrachtige vakantie , zeer mooi en heel ruim appartement, grote living met volledig uitgeruste keukenwall, mooie slaapkamer met apart toilet en badkamer met regendouche. Kraaknet en zeer mooi ingericht. Sleutelvrije deuren. Je hebt je eigen code op de deuren en dit geeft een heel veilig gevoel. Er staan heren en damesfietsen gratis ter beschikking voor de gasten, en de superverzorgde tuin heeft meerdere loungehoekjes en ook tafels en stoelen om buiten te eten, voor de zonnekloppers staan er zelfs ligbedden. De ligging is perfect, een rustige straat en maar 10 minuten fietsen naar de Rheinpromenade, waar je lekker kan eten en wat cultuur kan opsnuiven en genieten van de voorbijvarende schepen .Hele mooie fietsroutes in de omgeving die makkelijk te vinden zijn door het knooppuntensysteem. De gastheren zijn geweldige mensen die altijd bereid zijn om je een woorje uitleg te geven. Kortom, geweldige dagen gehad .

Reviewed By Marcel55Bed & Breakfast Herenhuis Elten ligt in een rustige zijstraat van de hoofdweg vanaf de snelweg richting centrum van Elten. Het B&B ligt nog geen 5 minuten lopen van de Markt met diverse restaurants. Makkelijk te vinden. Aardige ontvangst door de gastheer. Gratis parkeergelegenheid is voor de deur. Mooi huis, recent verbouwd en zeer smaakvol ingericht met zeven kamers. Wij verbleven in de Voorkamer aan de voorzijde, eerste verdieping op de hoek, zwart-wit ingericht. Goed lang lits-jumeaux bed - twee matrassen tegen elkaar met ieder een eigen dekbed - waarin we prima hebben geslapen. Het ontbijt was goed verzorgd in buffetvorm, in een mooi ingerichte aparte ontbijtruimte. Het B&B ligt ideaal voor het volgen van het Noaber (en Pieter-)pad. Minpunten hebben wij niet kunnen ontdekken.
