What a lovely chef! I was so impressed with the quality of the food. You can really tell he takes pride in his cooking. I highly recommend the burger. He accommodated to our needs and made no fuss. We will definitely be going back.

I stayed in The House On The Corner during the week from November 2019 until February 2020. The owner Wendy was so lovely and accommodating. Rooms were spotless and fresh! Everyday I was given bread, milk, fresh orange juice and plenty of cereal to choose from. There was a fridge and microwave in the room too. The beds were really comfortable and the sheets were clean and crisp.... best sleep I'd had in a while. Wendy was dedicated to ensuring all her customers were happy and if we needed anything she helped straight away. Wendy made us a Christmas dinner the week before Christmas, it was delicious .... I felt that was a lovely touch. I will try to get work back down there at Christmas next year. I also stayed in the self contained flat for a short time too. This is certainly a home from home and a lovely place to stay.

Staff at check in were very friendly and efficient. The room was basic but was fine. Breakfast set out was very much like a school canteen. It was ok though and had everything you could want. I would say this hotel is more suited to younger people, students. But, for a cheap hotel at the last minute it was ok.

Stayed in the family lodge with partner + 2yo. The accomodation was nice overall. Clean, tidy, nice little outdoor area which was lovely in the evening. Unfortunately, the towel rail heater in the bathroom was on full pelt (in summer) at approx 3000 degrees, unclear how to turn it off. Tried a few random unlabelled switches around the bathroom area but it was still on. My 2 year old also discovered this and cried when she scalded her hand on it. So not ideal. (emailed host no response). Also, my partner was surprised to find the hot water run out mid-shower with a large helping of conditioner still in her hair. Forced to evacuate the shower and wait for it to 'warm up' again (it didn't). Only I had a shower before her, not a particularly long one. If an actual family of 4 were staying in this lodge they would certainly not all be able to shower in the morning, which is obviously unacceptable, hence the 3 stars.

Good clean accommodation ,one room en suite if you dont fancy idea of shared bathroom .Easy to find and plenty of parking you can even use adjacent self serve driving range if you have a couple of clubs with you .£1 coin needed for small bucket of balls . Breakfast is do it yourself ,which is slight problem if you want a lie in while other guests prepare their breakfast as kitchen is right outside bedroom doors. No farmhouse cooked breakfast but good selection of cereals and jams etc .Did notice one guest had full breakfast in evening as well as in the morning and wonder if this could be a problem if too many people do it .

We booked 7c online at the last minute for two night and couldn't have been happier. Our plans in the area changed but finding Ashbrook was fantastic. The apartment was clean, tidy and well presented. Any issues were dealt with promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend these and would revisit

I booked a deluxe double room at this property. I could not believe that there was no en suite. It was not clear that this would be the case. The property description has a shared bathroom “hidden” in the description however it does not clearly state this for each room. A deluxe bedroom in my opinion should have a bathroom within it. I checked in (collecting my key from a safe box) however could not stay. The bedroom was on the first floor and the bathroom downstairs, through a kitchen. I immediately contacted the owner by email as there was no staff on site to advise. They said I could use a downstairs room. However it was late in the evening and I had found elsewhere. There were 5 rooms (potentially 10 people) expecting to use this one bathroom. You cannot expect 10 people to use one bathroom in the morning. I was not prepared to queue for a wash in the morning. I was also not prepared to have to find the toilet downstairs at the back of the property during the night. In my opinion the property description is not accurate and is misleading. I did ask for a refund however this has been declined.
