Gippsland's Premier Motor Museum - with changing of display theme every 4 months, around 60 stellar vehicles and 50 Motorcycles on display, along with much memorabilia.
Not being a car person my self, it was suggested to me to take a visit and wow, totally unexpected, way above my expectations, I was certainly not disappointed. The collection is very well laid out and the individual exhibits are themselves very interesting, many with a local flavor. The team running the collection are I understand volunteers only too keen to talk about any exhibit. I was told by one of the staff that the exhibitions are changed on a regular basis. Plenty to interest all the family. A covered picnic area outside. for visitors use. The GVC is a real credit to the community and the people involved.

The Gippsland Regional Maritime Museum Port Albert is located in Gippsland's first port, Port Albert, discovered in 1841 by the survivors of the wreck of the steamer Clonmel on the Ninety Mile Beach. The Museum has an extensive collection of historic artifacts, photos and documents housed in the heritage listed Bank of Victoria built in 1861 to store gold from the Gippsland Gold Rush. The Museum houses an extensive library and archive which is available for research and there is a comprehensive education kit of student activities. The landscaped grounds contain the fishing boat 'Morning Star', 'Suzy' and the Cliffy Island workboat. There is a Trotman's anchor from the steam tug and trawler 'Wybia', two large sailing ship anchors, the restored Citadel Light, channel markers and beacons and an offshore oil/gas drill bit. There is a large timber deck where groups can sit and have tea and coffee. The museum is open 10:00am to 4pm daily Sept- May. Weekends & school hols Jun-Aug.

Old Gippstown is a heritage park built on 8 acres of landscaped Crown Land. It is unique in that 80% of its buildings are original (not purpose built). There are many artefacts that have been donated and are in the buildings and surrounds. It has one of the largest collections of horse drawn vehicles held in public hands. We are a deductible gift recipient, so donations of $2 or more to the Park are tax deductible. We also have a number of areas available for hire around our park, with prices available on request. Arrangement for school tours can be made as well as bus groups. Weddings, functions and parties can be catered for.

This is the Old Walhalla Post Office Museum - this post seems to mix up both museums, the other one at the corner store was closed when we went, so this is my review of the Old Walhalla Post Office Museum. It was absolutely fascinating as the last post master who lived and worked here kept it as it was, so it has become a legitimate preserved time capsule and step back in time. It's only a "donation" to get in . I highly recommend you take the time to wander through, and the lady at the front was SO friendly and helpful
