I just returned from a 5 day safari with Meru Slope Tours traveling to Tarangire, Serengeti, and the Ngorogoro crater. What an experience! Communication was excellent, always responded quickly to any questions that I had, and a staff member was waiting on my at the airport. Service was excellent and really exceeded my expectations. My guide, Ashley, could not have been better! His experience and knowledge allowed me to see and witness things that most may not ever get to see. I witnessed drivers from other companies cut others off and get too close to the animals, making them uncomfortable. Fortunately my guide, nor any of the other Meru slope tours drivers, ever tried to get too close or cut anyone off. Serengeti was by far my favorite! But the other places were awesome as well! I did not want to leave! But I hope to return someday soon and will definitely use Meru slope Tours again!

Trip Date: Aug 2019 Africa and the Serengeti have long been on my friend and I's bucket list. We were so fortunate to have found Alex's Baba Kilimanjaro Tour Group. This was our first time dealing directly with a company in Africa (and not via a third-party travel agency). After we paid the deposit, we seemed a bit uncertain if anyone was going to pick us up at the airport at all! All that anxiety went out of the window when we saw Alex, the owner-operator, smiling and holding up a big sign at the airport, and welcomed us to his comfortable Toyota Land Cruiser. In the next 7-8 days, we traveled with Alex in his Land Cruiser, as a private tour for just us two. He has a keen pair of eyes and can spot animals miles away. He led us to see many animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, African buffalos, giraffes, etc. His English was excellent, we had no problem communicating with him at all. He even has a great sense of humor and told us a lot of interesting stories about the local culture and animals. Most importantly, we saw the crown jewel of the Safari, which is the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebras. It took a lot of patience and experience on Alex's part, but we finally saw it. Its magnificance can only be appreciated in person. Given this is a national park and complete wilderness, he cared a lot about our safety and told us all kinds of safety precautions. We felt super safe with Alex around. Through these 7-8 day stay with Alex, both my friend and I formed a strong bond with Alex, and we remained friends until today. Note: My trip took place before COVID so no masks was required. From my recent conversation with Alex, he has prepared all the sanitation and personal protection equipment for all his employees and the customers.
