Having known the Grueben, as a little girl back then, being dark, old, crumbling and affected by flooding of the Salzach river, it was so nice to see this beautiful part of the "old town" of Burghausen restored so nicely. All the facades are now looking fresh and clean and bright, especially on a nice, sunny summer day. There are now many nice boutique like shops with handcrafted things, even a "Schnapps" distillery with some pretty unique brands. And while you walk down the alley have a look down and read the brass plaques of all the famous jazz musicians who came to Burghausen for the now well known Burghauser Jazz Week.
