This is a cosy restaurant placed in one of the historical buildings in the old town. I had a Munchner schnitzel with potato-cucumber salad and was very satisfied. Meat was juicy and salad fresh, both heavenly tasting. Also waitress was very friendly and helpful and service fast. I can truly recommend.

Stopped here for beer whikst walking through the woods from the Roman well above Weissenburg. Friendly service, great beer and good views over the town below

Had dinner here one night, pleasant restaurant and helpful staff. Chose to eat the ox cheek which was great and plentiful but the hard, tasteless vegetables spoilt the meal.

Visited here for dinner several times during our stay in Weissenburg. Does not look that interesting from outside but the local specialities on the menu and the good portion size more than make up for the external appearance. Try the sauerbraten or the wiener schnitzel, hgreat value and taste.

Nach fast zwei Jahren hat die Kanne wieder offen. Nahezu unverändert findet sich das Lokal vor. Gutes Fränkisch, modernes Essen und charmante Bedienungen machen einen Besuch wert. Der Preis ist OK, das Lokal noch immer TOP, wir kommen wieder.

Our innkeeper recommended this restaurant for its huge portions of inexpensive, local cuisine. My husband and son ordered two different cordon bleus that were huge and delicious. My melted Camembert with bread and cranberries was good, along with my other sonâs sausages. Our waitress was great despite the language barrier and she gave us complimentary shots after dinner.
