BF Adventure

Outdoor activity centre and charity, BF Adventure offers a wide range of exciting activities including rock climbing, abseiling, watersports, bush craft, zip-lining, archery and a wide range of team building and problem solving games at it's beautiful site near Penryn & Falmouth. The 60-acre site includes 3 water-filled quarries, woodland and heathland and is the ideal environment to try something new, challenge yourself and have a great time. During the school holidays we run our very popular adventure childcare (Holiday Activity Days) for children aged 6 to 13. We also run adventure sessions for friends and families, offering the same activities. Tailor-made programmes are run for companies, schools and private groups such as birthday parties, stag and hen parties, youth groups and clubs. Upon request we can arrange catering, transport, accommodation, photography and a meeting room. All programmes are also available as residentials with the option to book evening activities.

An excellent 3 hours spent with these friendly, safety conscious staff. The whole family enjoyed it. We especially liked the bridge inte first area and the zip line in the second area. But it was also fun to climb round on the rocks. Always felt safe as the equipment and set up was perfect. An absolute must if you go to this area of Cornwall

Phoenix Falmouth Cinema

Phoenix is an award winning independently operated multi-screen cinema on the east coast of Cornwall in the historic town of Falmouth. It is housed within a beautiful Nineteenth Century former "Drill Hall" building. Phoenix contains five cinema screens playing mainstream, classic and art-house releases with three auditoria offering luxury seating with armchairs, sofas, side tables and full waiter service. The two main larger auditoria provide traditional theatre-style cinema seating with stadium layouts and full digital sound and picture. The cinema, as you'd expect, also has a long contemporary confectionery and popcorn counter, but it also houses a stylish bar and restaurant on the first floor with chef-prepared meals, light cinema-snacks or freshly ground coffee and pots of tea. In 2009, the year that Phoenix opened, it won the prestigious UK Independent Cinema Of The Year award. Phoenix is part of the Merlin Cinemas group

We visited the cinema as a family whilst on holiday in the area. Great film that we watched; Blinded by the light’. Great food & drinks service whilst sat at seats! Following the film my 12 year old daughter fell down the steps on way out and injured her ankle. The man who I think was a manager was amazing and he immediately came to assist with a seat & brought a glass of water. He was willing to call ambulance if needed but we said that we would make our own way to hospital & he got a print out of a map for us to follow! Thank you so much for all your help whoever you were!

Ships & Castles Leisure Centre

We, a group of five friends, visited on a particularly rainy day in November to attend their Aqua Splash session. The reception lady was welcoming and informative. We were charged £4.60 each for the hour. This pool is a fun pool with a irregular shape and depths ranging from zero to 1.6m and the water was warmer the a usual swimming pool. They have a wave machine, a river run and a flume ride each of which are opened in turn twice during the hour. It was really great fun, but not much good if you wanted a real swim. There were several attentive lifeguards and jaccusis if you wanted them. We all had a great time and will be back again. PS they don't permit photographs or video inside.

The Little Yellow House Studios

The Little Yellow House Studios in Penryn are home to 4 artists and makers who use the space as both a place to work and a place to sell their creations, which include silver jewellery, ceramics, oil paintings, textiles, prints and more. Even if you just pop in to buy a card there is always something new to look at in The Little Yellow House. The Little Yellow House also offers a range of workshops, keep an eye on our Facebook page for details. Our opening hours are currently erratic as we all work at 'day jobs' as well as in the studio- in general though we are open every weekend.
