Iâm not a culinary specialist but it would not surprise me this place gets a Michelin star recommendation soon. The only thing missing is tablecloth and bigger napkins ;-)What should I say more? The staff is very friendly, young and explain correctly whatâs have been served. The food is a bit âtechnicalâ and therefore with several taste surprises. Dishes are creatively and made into perfection. Warming: the building from outside tellâs a different story from whatâs inside. Donât judge too fast.
Prima restaurant met een mooie kaart, restaurant voert het interieur van theater De Kom door in het restaurant. Open keuken, goed en lekker eten, "Green Egg" van de chef wordt gebruikt, ook op verzoek. Goede bediening. Ook te combineren met een theaterbezoek. Aanrader!

What a hidden gem is this restaurant! Nieuwegein is not one of my favorite cities and I wouldn't go there without a good reason, but this restaurant certainly is a reason to go more often! The food was delicious (we had steak tartare and filet mignon), so good that we didn't have more space to fit in a nice dessert ;) The food was cooked perfectly and prized fairly. I will definitely come back!

Kantien is a not so typical Dutch restaurant, which is situated in a former local government office. Local food, dutch craft beers, cocktails, brunch, bites, dinner a big terrace and meeting rooms.
Enjoyed a light 3 course Sunday lunch here on the large terrace of this unusual restaurant. An intriguing medley of various tomatoes done in different ways as a starter. Poached cod as a main course and frangipan tart with ice cream as a dessert. All very tasty, innovative and well presented. Good Sauvignon Blanc to go with it and plenty of free water. Very friendly and attentive waitress. And...free ample parking opposite. Where do you find that in Utrecht!
On the middle of the Berlijnplein you can find Venster. Here we try to play with food in a way that'll make you happy and our chefs happy. With a daily changing menu we can create the dishes that we feel like with the products that we get from local farme
We visited Venster for a business lunch and workshop. The outside of Venster looks a lot like a temporary log cabin. It looks very small, but isn't. There was even a separate room for the workshop with large screen and flipover. Lunch was very nice: sandwiches with fresh salad toppings, excellent grilled ham, fresh fruit and cold drinks. Looking forward to return for more.

For an fix price of 14.50 euro you can eat here an 3 course meal. The quality is amazing for this price. Don't get me wrong I had beter, but not for 14.50. The portions are on the small size but you can order an extra appetiser for 4 euro extra. The place is very busy and the tables are close packed. The staff is young but friendly and doing there best. Nice place if you have an small budget.

Every Friday there are two sessions, starting at 18.00 hrs, the second session starts at about 20.30 hrs. Find the reservation number on Facebook to check for availability. Maximum of 14 seats available per session. (16 when you all very close.....)During the session you are served fresh Minahasa dishes (North Sulawesi). Chef Meerten is a master in mixing herbs and spices. The starter is purely meant to reset your taste buds and then the feast begins, a nice round plate is served with several smaller portions of fish, meat and vegetables, cooked to perfection. All this is refilled upon request.Do not forget to ask for the world famous tomato-peppersambal, very nice! Dessert varies but you will not be dissapointed. This all is situated in the former gate keeper house of IJsselstein which is built in 1622!Each Saturday there is only 1 session and the full dinner is only made up of fish, again all MInihasa style. Very good as well. Each Sunday you can go in and have the best plateservice offering Bahmi Rames or a Sateh dish. Either eat it in the lovely little restaurant or take it home with you to enoy later. You can even buy your own 1 or 2 portion Rantang to take it all home in true Indonesian style. Doors open on Sundays from 14.00 hrs.
Where to eat European food in IJsselstein: The Best Restaurants and Bars

This restaurant is located between IJsselstein and Montfoort just next to de IJssel river. The river is a small rivier being used for recreation. Rivers/Marnemoende is the central building of a small harbour being used by recreation ships. It has two stories, one is a fine dining restaurant on the top floor. The other one is a summer time terrace with only outdoor seating next to the water where boats dock to come and have a drink, lunch or diner (both of them more bar-style menu's). The menu's of both locations are different. The fine dining place offers outdoor seating on a big balcony. I've eaten several times at the fine restaurant. The food quality and looks are what one expects from a good fine restaurant. Well balanced portions and interesting combinations. Staff is experienced and offers good advice on wines and menu's. They offer a quick business lunch with three courses which has a changing menu. Definitely a recommendation to visit!
