Interesting visit to the inner light house to see some of Port Stephens history and view of Shoal Bay and out the headlands.

Great spot for seeing local fish and sea creatures , need good swimming-ability as it can be a strong current? Easy to park nearby, lovely beach close by too

Beautiful 360 degree view of nelson Bay and surrounds, could see down to Stockton beach across to the Myall Lakes and out to lemon tree passage.

This is a beautiful community art centre where one is spoilt for choice. Great selection of art works and various mediums from paintings, sculpture, pottery, mosaics, jewellery, crochet, seeing and glass work to name a few. Prices very reasonable for quality art works. Pleasantly surprised. The gardens surrounding and cafe looked lovely to had I more time. Purchased a gorgeous pottery lighthouse by artist Roger Rigby.

Probably one of the best spots in the area: the beach is sheltered, clean, surrounded by a large grassy area with tables and toilets/showers. On one side the "pelican area", on the other a kids' playground (plus a seafood restaurant for the adults). We spotted dolphins at about 20 metres from the beach, magical. There's a little shop selling fish and chips, burgers and ice cream. Otherwise you can walk up the hill and be at the lighthouse with its cafes.

The area is developing a quite a pace but still there are a plethora of beautiful waterways and walking trails. Dotted with languid seaside villages the whole peninsula is really worth exploring.

D’ALBORA Marinas is the largest marina operator in Australia with seven marinas, offering exchange berthing rights and a premium service, while fostering a genuine sense of belonging within our community.
The title pretty much says it all. The marina area in the afternoon for sunset with the family is beautiful, it has a great family vibe plenty of cafes and restaurants, the marina pub is the best place for a few sundowners , it’s family friendly and the food is great, the staff don’t come any friendlier, you can find a great crepe van right at the end of the marina.

We were staying close by for the weekend so went to the Marlin Restaurant at the Bowling Club. Had the fresh beer battered fish and vegetables and was very pleased with my selection. The fish was so fresh and the batter actually did have the beer flavour (have had plenty that didn't), the steamed vegetables were so fresh I thought they must of been from someone's garden and they were tastefully done in a butter sautéed ... My partner had the chicken and mushroom penne which was very tasty and fresh. Returned two nights later for the same fish and it was just as good as the first time! Good value for money, friendly helpful staff. Had a great view out over the marina and bay. Will definately be back again :)
