Things to do in Westhoughton
Stopped here for a easy meal after traveling all day as our normal takeaway doesn't open Sunday's. Salt and pepper wings, duck, special fried rice and Thai king prawns. All food tasted ok but later that evening the girlfriend and I started to feel sick. Myself spending all of that night and some of the next day being sick and the girlfriend who is still suffering almost 24 hours later with sickness and stomach cramps. I have just spoke to the staff about this and was given a full refund. The staff assured me that they have a food hygiene rating of 4/5 but this isn't on display because there is no space in the window.. it's a very empty window. The staff also keen to find out what our address was asking a number of times for the door number then tuck a few random guesses of the door number themselves.. found that a little strange!Unfortunately rating as 0 stars is not a options so it's a 1 but other than being refunded we can't recommend
I selected subway in Woolston, but there was a different town address? So I'm assuming that's the head office or something , I'm also assuming the one I picked is the one in woolston Southampton... When I was hardly old enough to go to other villages and towns on my own.. Probably was only allowed to go with someone else..probably older,, Woolston Southampton was quite a prosperous little place, it had Keith Paul's toy and bike shop, Macks ... Now Annies cafe had loads of state of the art video games, the Itchen bridge was known as the new bridge (loads and loads of people including me thought it was actually called the new bridge) the place seemed to slope downwards after the close of The ship builders Vosper thorny crofts (that might be spelled wrong) they have been building flats and massive new buildings for years and years! But things are still pretty quiet in woolston, the new subway has always been empty or nearly empty every time I've been in it! This is definitely not due to sub standards, this branch of subway is as good as any other, woolston needs a jump start! You see people trying to get a little family business going.. And end up having to give in, I hope this branch makes it.
Food beautifully cooked I had fish and chips mushy peas so did my husband but he also tried the spicy curry sauce he loved it . Kids had the pie meal deal lovely staff spotless clean would recommend it highly. Also good value for money

Thought we would give this place another chance after the hair we found last time...... Never again!!!!!! It was £1.80 delivery charge for a 2 minute drive and the order was £9, so £10.80 in total. Then I kid you not - a fly in the food. Absolutely disgusting and we WILL NEVER order from here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm reasonably new to using this takeaway but love their chicken sag its the tastiest I've had in a long long time. myself and my friends have tried several different meals and everyone has been lovely. delivery is circa 30/40mins which is average these days and the delivery guy is friendly.

This chippy used to be THE chippy in Westhoughton. That being said, you had a job to catch it open.....they (the previous owners) were very much "part time". The new owners have extended their opening hours but the produce isn't quite the quality that it used to be. Perhaps it's just teething problems and they'll pick it up again. Certainly I'd buy stuff from there but I'd also recommend that they watch their standards. People wont tell you..... they'll just go elsewhere.

We had two hours to kill with our grandson before picking the granddaughter up and always like to take him somewhere different. I had read the reviews (only tow so far strangely) and seen Facebook shares by friends so thought we would give it a try.Just off the main street and a car park nearby so quite handy. Maybe we had wrongly assumed this was like a café but there's just around 8-10 tall stools with seating against a bar in the window. The menu is an unusual mix of desserts and ice creams with sub type sandwiches. Our grandson went of chocolate waffles which we greatly enjoyed severed in a paper bowl. We were going to eat but there wasn't really anything plain or light for my partner so we just had a coffee which was just average - it was served in a take away cup not to everyone's taste. Somehow my grandson (he's six) also managed a chocolate ice cream - the ice cream is Fredericks (plenty of choice) and you cannot go wrong with their ice cream. So maybe great for kids desserts but maybe be not for those accompanying themHello Sam, we appreciate the feedback you have given us and were sure your grandson enjoyed the fredericks! Who doesn't!? Maybe next time you can come and try our fresh suburrito menu rather than the dessert side. We appreciate the size and layout of the building it is problematic when everyone is queuing, and although we are a takeaway concept our packaging has changed to accommodate peoples preferences! We are more Facebook based at the moment but will be pushing the Trip Advisor more seeing how popular The Wobbly Cow has become throughout 2018.

This place is based in Bolton Market. The goat curry is absolutely superb and Alain the chef is a pleasure to listen too. Excellent African cuisine in the centre of Lancashire - and we should know living in Africa 4 months of the year. Visit as soon as possible you will not be disappointed.
