Things to do in Margate
Wish I'd discovered this place on the first day of my trip rather than the last. Finally somewhere I could order delicious, healthy and vegetarian food. Worth taking the trip a little out of Shelly centre to enjoy the lovely atmosphere and great coffee.
While proudly South African, Nando's is an international flame-grilling, PERi-PERi chicken restaurant group We offer a twist of Afro-Portuguese with an upmarket and comfortable dining experience The first Nando's was opened in 1987 in Johannesburg, South
You cannot visit South Africa without tasting Nandos.Nandos menu is based on Portuguese grilled chicken.Service here is good and food is better.Cleanliness depends on how busy they are!Opt for take-out when busy.Make sure to give clear instructions on how you like your chicken,well-done/juicy etc.Our favourite is skinless juicy chicken as well as well done livers....all medium.Mild, hot and extra hot is also available.
We took clients out on Sunday for Dinner...what an embarrassment, what a mistake.Cod Fish...a total disaster,snails...the smallest, insignificant dish I have ever seen.Cabbage soup for dish wash liquid. The cappuccino was dish water. The worst restaurant , have been too, could not compare to this.Very spacious and on the first floor.Dont get caught by colour and tradition, this one is not for food lovers.Hard work and no Creativity or Passion. My bill almost R1000 for seating space.Very disappointed....never again

Enjoyed both breakfast and lunch at this restaurant. Great french toast and really great bacon. Burgers are awesome and so is the duck salad. Great location with sea view. Patio open for smokers and definitely affects the inside. Should consider a separate smoking area. Why as a non smoker must you sit inside with a view like this. Service slow.

We were looking for a restaurant to eat at with good food, nothing fancy and that would accommodate my young baby daughter.Munchner Haus was fantastic. Restuarant was very South Coast casual and the food was a 10/10. Service was just as good. After passing the restaurant for many years will definitely go back. The Eisbein was massive and they served us some extra cranberry cream! Fantastic! The pork schnitzel was massive and very tasty.Well done Munchner Haus!

The restaurant was fun and the staff was great. The chicken and Trinchado was awesome. I'd avoid the pork chops. The giblets and the sauce was amazing and the steak on the Trinchado was really good. Cindy our waiters was helpful and lively. And a cat for entertainment.

We visited over the long weekend and although we were early we still suffered because of poor service which was because the restaurant was understaffed. Two waiters and the manager for 7 tables. Initial service was good. We were seated and given menus and we ordered drinks. Getting the drinks took a while and then we placed orders. There was one chicken and prawn curry, one grilled rock cod and 2 portions of prawns. Service took at least 45 minutes. When the food arrived it was very good. Prawns were a good size and tasty. Same can be said of the curry and rock cod. Pity that good food was let down by service. Prices were reasonable for both food and wine.

Just out looking for somewhere for lunch and we followed the signs for this cafe. We had the set Sunday lunch which was: pear salad, chilled pea soup, choice of rump steak or pork fillet ( served with dauphinois potato, phyllo pastry cups with something tasty inside, roasted butternut) followed by choice of a delicious chocolate ice cream mousse or passion fruit cheesecake. EVERYTHING was delicious, served beautifully by friendly staff in pretty surroundings. The owners made us feel so welcome and to top it all there was a lady offering free tastings of lovely wines! For two of us the four course meal was R460 which we thought was a bargain especially considering the top quality of the meal. South Coast people, go there very soon! We will be back.
