The Manor at Sway serves locally inspired cuisine. All products are sourced in the surrounding area and everything is homemade. Our newly refurbished dining and bar are are cozy and warm in the winter and our west facing terrace is ideal for al fresco din
We bought a Groupon 5 course tasting menu. Wonât go again. We were treated like poor relations. We told them on booking that my pregnant daughter was a pescatarian. On arrival we discovered, to my horror, that we were all given the same menu and two of the main courses were fish. I hate fish! On asking the very unhelpful manager, could this be changed. He was very off and couldnât understand anyone not liking fish. He said the chef was busy, although there was only three tables with two and four people on them. How does he cope if it was full. He came back offering rabbit. I said I was sorry but I keep rabbits as pets and couldnât possibly eat rabbit. Again he went off in a huff and came back offering pork, that I was very grateful. One of the courses was tomato jelly which my daughter couldnât eat as it had gelatine in and we never finished as it was disgusting. The fried courgette wasnât cooked inside. The manager said that everyone in the restaurant, all three tables, had ordered from the menu and he was busy too. No one else in the restaurant had the tasting menu. If the hotel donât want people to use the Groupon offer, they shouldnât use the site. Itâs a shame as the hotel is lovely and the patio is lovely too. The other waiters were excellent and very helpful. They did make a lot of money out of us as we spent £100 on drinks and coffees. We wonât go again. We travelled from Fareham and it took an hour to get there. We should have stayed at home!

Weâve eaten here many times before, for work and play and itâs always been A class, amazing to say the least! The food always matched the setting! Pure Perfection!Iâve been holding off writing this review as we have given Gordleton a chance to rectify this, we sent an email explaining our disappointment......but 3 months later we have had zero response! so.....I think something has changed at this place!? Iâm not one to complain, pretty laid back me but.....My husband & I visited back in June for dinner and Iâm sorry to say that the food was just awful! Tasteless, Iâve had better from a Tesco salad..! (No joke)(sorry)The service was slow, we had to wait 30 minutes to get a drink, come on now?!This is such a shame as the food has always been so so good in the past, the best even, and I told all my friends! The place is still stunningly gorgeous, definitely the best bit!So donât arrive hungry or thirsty for that matter! (pop in to Tesco en route) and just admire the scenery!Marshmellow9977,Thank you for your feedback from your experience with us back in May. Our waterfront bar & restaurant offers unrivalled views over Lymington and the Solent, making it the perfect spot for a drink, bite to eat or a quality evening meal. Located at the beautiful Lymington Yacht Haven on the edge of the New Forest, our friendl
Recommended to us by locals and we were not disappointed. Easy to find, easy to park (free) and easy to enjoy with such good food and service. We pre-booked a window table for 6 which proved sensible even for the first day of October as the restaurant was quite busy. Ringwood bitter (£4.10/pint) was well kept and full of hops. Some of our party opted for the sandwiches (all priced at (£10 with chips) with crayfish and marie rose sauce very popular. More adventurous chose Mussels with garlic cream sauce (£12.50 for starter size and no chips) were sensational. Large plump flesh, perfectly cooked so still sweet and moist with a delicate cream sauce served with crusty white bread. Outstanding dish!!

Despite dating back at least 300 years, many of the original features of The Kings Head can still be seen today. When you visit The Kings Head you will see the long-lasting beams made from Napoleonic Ships that only add to the character of this old English
Stopped here for lunch. Good to see they have a light bites menu for £7.95 alongside the traditional one as one of us was hungry & the other wasnât. However, having ordered one meal from the traditional menu, they came over to say they had run out of ham so my husband then chose from the light bites menu. The barmaid said she would bring the refund for the difference in price over to us. This didnât happen and we had to ask for it after the meal. Not a problem but not great customer service. The food was ok, nothing special and the service wasnât very friendly. I wouldnât say avoid as the food was good enough but there are better places to eat.

Best cafe in lymington, all day breakfast, ground coffee, resonable price, hog roast baguette, panini, take away, eat in
I've been here many occasions. I have a notion that the place has possibly changed management and its name to Tres Bon.I visited with two hungry grandchildren.Excellent service, staff were very attentive. The restaurant was very busy...always a good sign. Grandchildren had all day breakfast. I ordered lasagne. The breakfast was apparently very filling. However there was still space for ice cream and pancakes!!!Whilst the lasagne was 'passable', the whole dining experience and ambience certainly 'knocked the spots' off Wetherspoons further up the road.I will certainly be back. Next time I think I'll try the 'hog roast' bap.

Quintessentially British, with a sprinkling of French. The Elderflower is the new restaurant for food lovers on a cobbled Quay Street in the heart of Lymington, the beautiful Georgian town sited between the New Forest district of Hampshire and the West So
Wanting a special venue for our food-aware daughter's birthday, we chose the Elderflower for a tasting menu, after considering a number of restaurants in the Bournemouth area. We are very glad we did; it was an outstanding success. Every course was carefully designed to produce both expected and unexpected mixtures (who would have thought that parsnip and white chocolate are such excellent companions?), and the service was a perfect balance of attentive but not intrusive. The waiting staff are (as commented elsewhere) really knowledgeable about each dish, to a degree we has never previously encountered (so often it's 'Let me go and ask the kitchen, but in this case those serving us clearly knew how each dish was made â we wondered if in fact they had taken part in preparation). It so happened that one of us has a sensitivity to a common food ingredient, and when booking I mentioned this. The very helpful Katie said she'd ring back with some suggestions, and she did, several times, until the restaurant had, in effect, created a bespoke menu. Really thoughtful and considerate, and meant that all of us had an equally satisfying experience. Not cheap, but good value, and very reasonably priced for a tasting menu of this quality.BTW, I don't understand the comment about dated decor. We thought the ambience very good, and perfectly suited to the building. It certainly didn't feel like an old people's home (see other review below) when we went. Thank you, Elderflower team.

Had a wonderful lunch at lanes with friends. Lovely building, a sympathetically converted chapel with tables on different levels so that you never felt crowded or overheard. We were made so welcome and service was exceptional. It was difficult to choose from the tempting options on the menu . I had a very tasty stuffed mushroom starter , delicious and perfectly cooked smoked haddock with a butter sauce and veg main and a creme brûlée dessert . A plate of petit fours to share with happy birthday written in chocolate arrived with our coffee . Which was a lovely surprise and a very generous gesture from the restaurant .Really special lunch , we all enjoyed our meals and the friendly ambience. We will be back !

The Cedar Tree Restaurant is proudly located as the principal restaurant at South Lawn Hotel. We provide freshly cooked dishes influenced by traditional British and European cuisine with efficient yet informal service standards.
We had a short break stay at the South lawns Hotel . Our second visit . This time we dined at the restaurant. The menu was varied but we opted for the set menu options . We both had a fish starter. Presentation was excellent , the portion size was just right and it tasted fresh. I had the ham pie and my husband the whole sea bass. Again , tasty and excellent value. We couldn't resist the whiskey sponge pudding ! All in all we would thoroughly recommend the dinning experience. Not that we had a dog but they had a separate area for dinners with dogs. Inclusive of wine and a beer together with the 3 courses it came to a total of £52.00 for two. Staff were attentive and service was prompt. Superb! We are pleased to read you enjoyed your dining with us and thank you for your review. We hope to see you again soon.
