Discover Restaurants offering the best Deli food in Agrigento, Province of Agrigento, Italy. Though Agrigento is a modern city of about 60,000 on Sicily’s southwest coast, the majority of visitors come to experience the past just outside of town. At the Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi), citizens of the then-major Greek colony of Akragras began building seven Doric style holy monuments in the sixth century BC. The nearby Archaeological Museum helps put everything into context. Agrigento also has some fascinating sights in its old town, like the medieval Norman cathedral.

We chose this restaurant since we didn't have much else to choose from in the area. However, the pizza turned out to be very good, probably the best one we had in Sicily. And they even served Belgian beer! :-)
Really typical, no fancy, good quality food. The price is fair and you can have many different choises of meat and filling. Definitely suggested!

After reading the great reviews at this restaurant we looked forward to a lovely evening out. Previous descriptions of basic decor, electric oven and plastic plates were spot on. In addition to pizzas we ordered a half litre of the house white wine. We have quaffed many a carafe of the local brew at other restaurants and know it to be very good and very cheap. Strangely enough the proprietor was out of local house wine but was able to open a full bottle of local supermarket wine which he left on the table. It was a bottle of Izzolia and normally less than â¬2 for a 75 cl bottle. After two good and tasty pizzas and some friendly banter with the boss, we were charged â¬12 for the wine. We felt cheated both financially and personally. We had fallen for the oldest trick in the book. Shame really as we would have gone back again for a second time. For us, never again. You have been warned.

We expected a decent restaurant, based on the photos and reviews, but it's just a street food kitchen with 4 tables in front.I start by saying that I haven't included my business in the category of restaurants. Evidently Trip Advisor doesn't consider specific differences between varied culinary businesses. Personally, I especially aim at making the customer discover the culinary tradition of Agrigento, particularly if he is a tourist, by selling simple dishes, maybe without precious pieces of cutlery, and I also admit that 4/5 tables under a gazebo don't represent the best of culinary businesses, but at the same time I let my customers to feel welcomed, like in a family (most of past reviews prove my statement). So I admit without any problems that my customers will find a completely spartan "small place", both outside and inside. Thus, I necessarily have to make you note that we aren't a Street Food, as we don't sell traditional Street Food's products. Just look at our menù: you'll see lots of salads, fruit salads, local dishes and so on, all foods that don't have the qualities of a Street Food at all. By the way, thank you for your review: even the bad ones are useful in order to improve ourselves.
