2. Nungwi Village Tour
The village experience -tour is always done with local guides from the village, and all the activities are planned to benefit the village and nature conservation. Discover how locals live their everyday lives and how they make their livelihoods. Mnarani Aquarium is a small tidal lake surrounded by the porous coral rag stone that is home to dozens of endangered hawksbill and green turtles. You will get to feed the turtles with seaweed and to take photographs. You will also have a chance to visit dhow (local boat) makers by the beach and see how a boat will be prepared or made from the scratch. The tour finishes with a great Swahili local style lunch! If you are not staying in Nungwi, we are happy to arrange a reasonably priced transfer.

We had such an amazing experience on this trip! We really enjoyed the private car with fridge and rooftop and we saw so many animals in the national park. Our tour guide Gaston was a real highlight, so knowledgeable, polite, friendly and really wanted to ensure we had the best time and maximised our time driving inside the park. Finding the most unique places to stop for lunch. Our flights got changed by the airline a month before arriving and so we had to move everything including this safari forward by a day and this was easily altered by the company without complaint. The value of this trip was outstanding which included private vehicle, park passes, accommodation and food. The visit to see the local people was certainly unique and interesting. We were also lucky to be the only people at the hotel (Tan Swiss) and had the pool to ourselves! The evening meal there was amazing, huge portions. We felt safe at all times even though the national park has no boundary so at any point animals can be seen everywhere in the local area but there were security on site! We had a night either side in Dar Es and followed this trip with a 6 night stay on Zanzibar and found it to be the perfect length between safari and island time. I could not recommend this trip more!
4. Nungwi Village Cultural Tour
Nungwi is the best village in Zanzibar located at North Coast. The best time to visit is early in the morning when the fish market is in full swing – depending on the catch the previous night you might see Tuna, King Fish, Dorado and a variety of other large fish for sale. In the mornings local fishermen (and women) wade out to the edge of the coral reef to catch a number of different small sea creatures including squid, octopus, puffer fish and the occasional ray – their catch will be sold at the fish market throughout the day. At Nungwi there are number of very interesting things to see and do including, the natural aquarium in which is a home endangered sea turtles and a variety of fish. The aquarium itself is a natural formation carved out from the coral bedrock by the erosion of millions of waves crashing against the shore. The depth of the water rises and falls with the tides providing a natural environment for its inhabitants.

I ordered almost all my Zanzibar tours and transfers at Mo tours & safaris, and was very much pleased by their work. Mohammed Ali turned to be very knowleadgeble and thoughtful person, and what was extremely important for me - absolutely reliable. My ferry from Dar Es Salaam to Zanibar was delayed for 3 hours, while I had no phone and internet connection to inform Mo about this delay. Moreover, I had to spend additional time in the port for the border formalities - and it was such a great happines to see Mo istill waiting for me to transfer to my hotel. I highly recommend his service.

We were lucky to meet Mody at Stone Town. He organized for us a real adventure to the Mikumi Park, where we met all the animals very close! It was unbelievable! Moreover he guided us to the local village near the park (it was our spontaneous request for more deep experience). The life and people there is very different - it is a real Africa. By chance we became guests at local wedding - the experience you can’t even imagine! Everything was great. I strongly recommend Mody as a guide for real adventurers, who not only want a nice picture, but an authentic Africa experience.
