Let's face it airport food is overpriced and often not so great. There has been some exceptions at various airports. One was Thai restaurant in San Diego. This E concourse corner of Miami airport has nothing worthwhile unless you want to drink away the lack of acceptable dining offers. We stopped at Cafe Versailles since it promoted itself as fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches. Fresh was not a word I would use to describe what they attempted to pass off as food. The only salad was a quinoa salad that appeared oily and old. I picked out an Italian baquette that was wrapped in plastic in the case. They retrieved an unwrapped sandwich from the fridge that had wilted lettuce, stale, tasteless bun, a couple hunk of parmesan cheese and a smear of tomato paste. I was charged almost ten dollars for this travesty. I ended up tossing it and buying a bag of popcorn at a vendor. ( At least, I knew what I was getting with the popcorn.)Miami International needs to step up its game. I will try to remember when I fly American to bring my own food since there is nothing edible at E Concourse.

Visited this location on Father's day after arriving in Miami the day before. We have been at this locations and other La Carreta's in previous visits and had good experiences. Sadly, this time, it wasn't as good as an experience. It started off with a bad experience when we walked in to get table. The hostess was, honestly, best described as surly. There were a few parties of 5 that came in at the same time. She was asking for the party of 5 and looking at us and we told her the others came in first. She sort of yelled at us that she didn't care and she wanted to seat a party of 5, any party of 5. Luckily another, nicer lady, came up and told us to come with her. After that we were a little pensive about even staying. But we did. Our server was OK, he was efficient but not super friendly. The food was OK. My wife had the fried Pork Chunks (Masitas) and they were really kind of over cooked. My meal was OK, but not what I was used to from my wife's Cuban family. Ever one else's meal was good. We had to ask for more bread and water to be filled, etc. What was strange too is the place looked a little unkempt. The bathroom was messy and outdated and the restaurant itself was really humid. I know, I know, it's Miami, and it's humid. But most places don't have this musty smell when you come into them. They did have carpet in the restaurant, so maybe that's why. Overall a very average experience here this time. We will go back to La Carreta again, but will probably try a different location next time. We had a much better meal at Versailles later in our trip.

Staff were great and the private room was awesome for our group! We had a lot of food and it was very reasonable for the amount. The black beans were A+ and the desserts were tasty

This place specializes in Cuban food and has typical dishes from other Latin American countries (Colombia and Venezuela among others). Its environment resembles one of those coffee shops that you would find in any Spanish-speaking country in the American continent. You can eat at the bar, at their indoor tables or at the external window, where they offer coffee, empanadas and other foods eaten with your hands. The portions are large and homemade flavored, good option for a quick lunch at a reasonable price.

Staying one night at the Intercontinental Doral before our Cuba cruise. Wanted a Cuban restaurant to kick off the festivities. This was a good option. Lots of different options to choose from. Enjoyed all the different dishes our group of 5 tried. Average prices, but terribly SLOW service.

Great service, friendly people and super food. Why would anyone stop at the fast food places that are at the front of the mall when they can get a great meal fast and reasonably price. We split the Rinconcito Sandwich (one sandwich was split across the two plates) and I had a small bowl of the Crema de Calavaza (pumpkin soup). The sandwich had turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato and melted Swiss all on a delicious bun. We stayed at a hotel across the street for a layover and will visit this place again when we return.

We went for dinner, at the recommendation of our hotel, and were delighted with our food. We had a few concerns at first, being that we do not speak spanish and that the person taking our drink orders clearly struggled to understand us. We had a different server come to take our order, one who understood us much better, and despite our language differences guided us towards some fantastic menu options. She took very good care of our dining needs. We would definitely go back!Melissa, we're thrilled you found us and everything worked out! You're always welcome to come back for more when you're in town. Thanks for sharing the love! Warmly,La Esquina Del Lechon Management Team
