Top 9 Classes & Workshops in Quepos, Province of Puntarenas

October 4, 2021 Hector Krause

Quepos, a small town in Puntarenas province, is located on Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast and is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world for big game sport fishing. However, Quepos also offers vacationers a wealth of other activities to do as well. The nearby plaza has many fine restaurants, art galleries and souvenir shops, most within a short walking distance of your beachfront vacation rental. Book an exhilarating canopy tour, go horseback riding, kayaking and rafting. Learn to surf or watch the surfers ride the waves; you’ll wonder at their athleticism.

Manuel Antonio Spanish School

Reviewed By runningdogs07 - Corvallis, United States

My daughter and I took weekly private classes with MA Spanish School this fall, roughly from August to October. We were staying in the area and neither of us spoke much Spanish - this was a great way to kickstart our language learning! My classes were well structured and challenging, which was just what I needed. Rebecca also recommended a couple of online apps to help me with practice and to continue my learning experience. They also had a small library, which included kids books, that we were encouraged to borrow from. My 8-year old daughter, who initially wasn't too excited about learning Spanish, absolutely loved her class and looked forward to it each week. Julia was great working with my daughter, making it fun while keeping her learning! Rebecca went above and beyond, helping to keep my daughter occupied while I had my lesson, and both Rebecca and Daniel offered advice and recommendations on our travel plans, even bringing in maps of areas we planned to travel to after we left Quepos. We weren't able to attend any of the extra activities they organize due to our schedule, but they helped us with other details (e.g., finding someone to help adjust my daughter's violin and recommending a yoga studio) that we weren't able to navigate with our limited Spanish. They also often had local snacks available to try like fresh sugar cane, and made recommendations on in-season fruits to try at the farmers market (mangosteen - yum!). We hope to return to the area in the next couple of years and if so, will definitely enroll in classes with them again. Overall excellent experience with MA Spanish School. Thank you Rebecca, Daniel, and Julia!!
