Find out what Chinese restaurants to try in Wheaton. Wheaton is a census-designated place in Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, north of Washington, D.C., northwest of Silver Spring. Wheaton takes its name from Frank Wheaton (1833–1903), a career officer in the United States Army and volunteer from Rhode Island in the Union Army who rose to the rank of major-general while serving before, during, and after the American Civil War.

8 piece order for dumplings at a reasonable price.A bit of a greasy spoon, too tight and cafeteria like so I wouldn't eat there but take-out and delivery is fine.Large selection, good prices.
Our favorite Chinese delivery closed a few years ago, and we struggled to find a decent replacement. Panda Wok fills the bill--not pricey, delivers on time as promised, we can order through Grub Hub and they take cash and cards. They have a large menu with the traditional "American" Chinese, so there's something for everyone. The fried rice is a standout--light and not too greasy. They are not the best Chinese in SIlver Spring, but they are the best delivery t our area, IMHO.

This excellent food place is a welcomed addition to the community. Mostly every dish is delightful but beware - some of the recipes might benefit from a reduction of the amount of spices included. It would be lovely to have the option of having a particular dish mild or spicy!Hi. Thanks for the kind review and glad you enjoyed the review.Just as an FYI, every entree on our menu is cooked to taste. If you want it less sweet, spicy, salty or anything in between all you have to do is ask. Every "taste" modifier you can imagine is on our point-of-sale system. It all prints out in Chinese in the kitchen too. :)

Always have good Cantonese dishes, some not found in other restaurants. For example, the dish I had: the kidney and liver in ginger and scallions. Loved it.

Letâs start with the ânegativesâ. The place looks shopworn. Booths have patched up seats, itâs small and cramped and looks like a caricature of the a 1960s Chinese restaurant. It serves no alcohol and it doesnât look that clean........ who cares. Food is outstanding. That is their focus, the food. And not just Americanized Chinese. Their wonton noodle soups are still the best around. Their spicy salt and pepper dishes are outstanding. Best snow pea leaves in the area. Their sizzling black pepper steak hot pot melts in your mouth. And the people who work their are very nice. They re not rude as some have said. So itâs not perhaps your romantic date night place, but it is a great place for real Chinese food.

A few months ago, I wrote a rather positive evaluation of Wang Gee Asian Restaurant. Subsequent visits to the restaurant confirmed that I was right. Today, we brought many guests from Texas to have Dim Sum and we were rather disappointed that this was not a good day at all. With few exceptions, many of the Dim Sums did not meet our expectations at all. Especially the Steamed Dumplings (Har Gow & Shiu Mai), various (beef, shrimp, and beef flavored) Rice Noodle Crepes, even our favorite ç¸ä¸¤ (Fried Bread Stick Rice Noodle Crepe). True, one cannot expect any eatery to perform at the same high level at every meal. Even so, this was very puzzling because the quality of todayâs food was quite a bit below that of the usual fare at Wang Gee. The only culprit we can point our fingers at was the change from Standard Time to Daylight Savings today, March 11. Normally, the restaurant is crowded at the time we arrived (11:30 am) but there were few people inside today. Apparently the dim sums have been sitting inside the steaming carts awaiting customers, who came late as they were still on Standard Time. We hope to find the usual good, delicious dim sums the next time we visit Wang Gee.

Dear Customers, My name is Andrew Quach, and I am one of the managers at Gourmet Inspirations. I lived in the Wheaton area for 18 years and have eaten at Good Fortune many times. My partners and I are very aware of the history and connection that the rest
Based on the good reviews, I tried this restaurant. However, I was very disappointed. I personally cannot eat onions and garlic; it makes me very sick. I know Buddhist Vegetarians also do not eat onions and garlic so you would think that an Asian restaurant should have a good system in place for making vegetarian dishes without onions and garlic. This is not the case for this restaurant. Upon explaining my dietary restrictions, the waitress recommended the "Assorted Vegetables with Tofu, Lo Han Style" as the safest bet. I stressed I could not have any onions, green onions, scallions, or garlic, ... even in the sauce. She said she would tell the chef. When the dish came, I could smell a very pungent smell of either seafood or onions/garlic. I still tried to labor on and eat the dish, avoiding the sauce because it made me want to throw up. I threw up a couple times and finally decided to bring the rest home so I could use lots of water to cook out the sauce and not waste the food. When I asked the waitress if she told the chef not to use onions and garlic she said yes. She said it could be the sauce, they use a premade sauce. She said I did not tell her not to use the sauce, but I did. Though she expressed sympathy, this is not the way to handle a dietary restriction. I had GI problems for thr next 2 days and had to throw out the rest of the food even after wasting time trying to cook out the sauce because the food was too repulsive for me. This is not the place for people with dietary restrictions.

This restaurant was formerly in China town in d.c. and relocated to this site about two years ago.
New Kam Fong is a great place to eat authentic Chinese food. They were in Chinatown, DC for many years and moved to Wheaton a few years ago. Their dishes are all great. They have fantastic lunch specials and a wide selection of traditional Chinese dishes. By the counter they have a showcase of different meats such as duck, pork to choose from. They also have a huge fresh fish tank full of fresh fish and live Maine lobsters. They serve all types of beer and wine. The service is great and the location is very accessible. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did! They are open for lunch and dinner and offer late dining.

This place is pretty good for dim sum- not the best in the area but definitely not the worst. Service is friendly and fast.
