I happened upon Imperial Garden and have to say, the food is delicious. The hot-and-sour soup is one of the best I've had, and the beef dishes are especially savory. Wonderful shrimp and broccoli, and yummy noodles.
The place just opened a couple of weeks ago. Thought that I would try the food, I had the chicken, chinese bacon and sausage clay pot, this does take a little more time to prepare about 20 minutes, but it was worth the wait. The meal it the spot. Could have used a little more chicken, but the sausage and bacon were both excellent. Would have liked a little more veg, but it definitely was a meat-centric meal.

I went to Hidden Wok after reading such great reviews. I've lived in San Leandro all my life and never went there. Couldn't believe I missed a restaurant with such good review. However, I thought it was just o.k. Nothing memorable. I can't even remember what we ate. I know when we left we agreed that it wasn't worth making a return trip from Castro Valley.

Super 5 is a little hole in the wall attached to a cheap motel. You wouldn't expect to find amazing food here, but that's what they deliver! I always say that the best Asian restaurants are the modest, simple, little places! Their wonton soup is some of the best I've had! The staff is very friendly, the place is never too busy, and the food is always good. It's my go-to place in San Leandro/Hayward.

Went on an early Sunday evening. They only take reservations for large parties. Luckily we made the last table for 4. They had specials of lobster and scallops for very reasonable prices. We ordered the garlic chicken, potato greens in soup and crab and sticky rice steamed over lotus leaf and the scallops on half shell. Was informed later that they had run out of the last item. The three remaining items were all very good not heavily seasoned or salty. The chicken had a nice crisp skin. The greens were tender and enhanced by the soup. The crab was meaty with the steaming infusing the sticky rice with crab flavor.
The Great Wall Restaurant is a friendly, accessible Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood. They have a wide variety of dishes, and can adapt some of them as special requests (we try not to eat pork dishes, but enjoy Mushu beef). They recently renovated the interior for a more spacious feel. We frequently do take-out (no home delivery), and the food is always warm and delicious.

Little Namking is a little treasure of a place, about the size of my living room and with about 3-4 tables. That's it. But it does amazing to go service like you won't believe. Delicious, very flavorful Chinese dishes with all the traditional favorites like chow mein and fried rice, broccoli beef and Mongolian chicken (a standout) for you. But what makes this place famous is their salt & pepper wings for $6.95 --marvelous and spicy fried chicken wings coated with a special sea salt and pepper on top, which are very addictive. You won't just order one of these. Just about everyone lines in the neighborhood for this dish, it's so famous. They also have a s&p shrimp that is tasty. Go for lunch, if you can grab a table, for what must be the best buy for their specials: $4.95 or so for things like eggplant chicken, sauteed chicken breast with spicy green beans or pork tenderloin and sauteed spicy veggies. Dishes come with steamed rice, fried for $1 extra, and one of the very best cups of hot & sour soup you're going to find in the Bay Area. Yes! The Bay Area. As good as So in SF and Eric's in SF. It's that good. Credit card minimum is $10. I've been coming here for a few years now.

Went to dinner last night and ordered the set menu for $38 and it came with soup and four dishes. Soup was tasty and the four dishes were large, well prepared, and tasty. Service was attentive and we had to take home what we couldn't eat. The only complaint was that the Toilet needed a deep cleaning.
