Cantonese cooks are obsessed with freshness but that is rarely the case in most Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. The real test is a seafood combination where less than fresh prawns, scallops and an excess of fish pieces, generally a few days old, can be found. This place has been of consistent high quality. It's run by Malaysian Chinese who seem keen to deliver high quality. I lived in Hong Kong for over thirty years so I know what good quality is. This restaurant, stuck in a typical suburban industrial retail block, seems to be getting it right. As with most Chinese restaurants the vegetables are exactly the same for every dish, which can be annoying. This is because we still order single dishes here for one person's consumption instead of sharing as they do in Asia.
They offer Chinese food. We have tried this restaurant a couple of times, the second time after new management took over. On both occasions the food was very bland and a very small portion for the price. At our last meal we opted for meat with rice (takeaway) and the meal was 3/4 steamed rice, which made the meal very poor value for the price paid. I also found the tables to be quite dirty. If you want Asian food, I would recommend the Malaysian restaurant in the same complex, which is better value and tastier.
We went to Dorbo and were pleasantly served . Service was great and our orders were taken promptly. The food was yummy. It costs us about $30.
It's great to have such a place in Melbourne CBD. Food is good and delicious at rather low prices. I always try to make a stop in the city either to eat there or do take-away. Even my non-veg colleagues like it too. Loving it.
This chain has generally good reviews so I was hoping it might live up to its promise especially as it's in my neighborhood. Having lived in Hong Kong and Shanghai for many years I have a good idea what dumpling quality is all about... and service. This outlet failed on a number of counts. Popularity may currently be overwhelming the service e staff at the moment so no surprise the quality of service was variable. No water supplied, forgotten dishes, wrong dishes, etc. The Xiao Long Bao were disappointing The meat centres were too compacted and therefore lacked the desired moisteness. The pan fried dumplings were very good. But the real flop was the onion cake which came out as a soggy mess, lacking the flakey pastry.Xiao Long Bao places are rated on their main dish and these are just not correct at the moment.
Not what you would expect from a hotpot experience. Normally I would expect a pot of soup with flame on the table. Not here, first you select your ingredients then they are taken into the kitchen and minutes later a completed large bowl is placed on your table ready to go. This is well worth a visit and the price is very reasonable!!!

At Cocochine diners can take off on an Asian culinary adventure with our authentic fusion dishes. Whether youâre looking to tuck into a Japanese bento box, sip on a bowl of Malaysian laksa or indulge in a tasty Thai curry. Our menu features favourites fro
Even though this is presented as Asian Fusion it is essentially very high standard Cantonese. What defines great Cantonese food is freshness. Try the squid or any vegetable fish and you will see why. The dim sum are very authentic and the Har Gow, prawn dumplings, for example are the equal of any I had in Hong Kong in over thirty years. The lunch menu is really excellent value. Keep up the standard!!

This our favourite go to place for a quick lunch. We really enjoy the friendly atmosphere and service. The place is spotless and the food is consistently good. Our favourite Tom yum rice and crispy silken tofu. The wife and I share the dishes and it is budget priced. Highly recommended.
