Orginally wanted to get take out from Wu's Garden which I had never had any problems with and the food was great. But the traffic situation in that area is horrific especially after 5:00 p.m. Consequently I stopped at the Great Wok near Caputo's market just off Lake Street. I ordered take out off the specialty dinner menu and got two egg rolls extra. Didn't check my order at the store. After a well deserved shower I opened my egg rolls which smelled like they have been soaking in a grease bath all day. Decided to try them with the hot mustard packet which was provided. The hot mustard didn't even try to hide the greasy taste and smell. Next I went to the dinner which I didn't check. NO RICE PROVIDED! No white rice, fried rice or brown rice! OMG! For a $15.00 order I think I can honestly think some kind of rice would be provided. AVOID this place at all costs.........
We used to go here all the time since it's really close to home. It was always good, but then at some point it started being inconsistent. My husband always has the General Tso's chicken and the chicken started being gristley (ick!) and other things just didn't taste as good. We might try them again some time but are turned off at the moment.
--nothing fancy about the plain-jane decor of this tiny restaurant. yet, recommended by several previous customers, we tried "wu's" and found great-tasting entries from an extensive menu of favorites. of course, we didnt sample everything, but our carry-outs encouraged return visits. very darn good! from seafood to vegetables to chicken and beef, appetizers and lunch specials, it's all there; and if you dont mind a little waiting for your order (not the blazing speed of mcDonalds)... satisfaction is pretty much assured. we did take-out and guess sit-in food just as excellent. with comparable prices, the service friendly and focused, the place clean and bright... id say: one of the best chinese restaurants for miles.
This place is now Golden Bowl. First time at this restaurant and im not coming back. Ordered sesame chicken -- dried up meat. like eating jerky. Egg foo young tasted good and not as greasy as other chinese restaurants, but my son found a plastic string inside. just terrible.! I spoke to the manager over the phone and shared my very unpleasant experience. Being a new restaurant, why sacrifice quality just to save a few bucks?EditDel
Since this takeout Chinese place has new ownership we have enjoyed it much more than previously. I pick it up (only 5 minutes away) and we haven't had anything that wasn't good. Especially like the egg foo young ,we know it's not really Chinese but is good. Everything is less greasy and good portions for the price and fast .
The numerous choices for week day lunch are well priced and portion size provides a substancial meal and with consistant good taste. Their take out business while I eat lunch there indicates that it is a popular place.

I compared the food container difference from 6 months ago to today and the containers from today are noticeably smaller and less meat and more vegetables. Stop shrinking the food containers and just raise the prices accordingly to rising food costs. STOP THE SHRINKING PORTIONS !.

We have had almost ever dish on the menu. The egg rolls are always consistently good. The beef and broccoli is also consistent. We have had issues with a lack of seasoning with the Egg foo Yung products. Soy sauce is always helpful. We eat here regularly. Good food at a good price.

My customer chose this restaurant for our meeting, and I would say he did well. The menu had great looking fish, sushi, and many other tempting dishes. I will be going back.
