It is located on the northern edge of the region called Bergisches Land, south of the Ruhr area, and, with a 2009 population of 161,366, is after Wuppertal the second largest city in the Bergisches Land. Wir waren mit 8 Leuten an einem schönen Sonntag zum Mittagessen hier. Das Lokal war gut besucht, wie es schien vor allem von Stammgästen. Die Einrichtung wirkte etwas veraltet, oder nennen wir es mal rustikal. Die Wartezeit auf das Essen war etwas lang aber aus unserer Sicht noch vertretbar; es war ja schlieÃlich Sonntag. Alle 7 Fleischesser wurden kulinarisch gut verwöhnt, nur unser einer Vegetarier wurde von dem Wirt mit Worten nahezu schon grenzwertig verhönt. Das hat sich leider über die gesamten 2 Stunden unserer Anwesenheit hingezogen und die Stimmung am Tisch merklich getrübt. Der Vegatarier machte zwar gute Miene zum bösen Spiel, jedoch frage ich mich ob bei dem aus Kroatien stammenden Wirt Vegetarier Menschen 2. Klasse sind, Nur so wären seine zahlreichen diskriminierenden und nicht ansatzweise lustigen Sprüche zu erklären ("Warum isst du kein Fleisch? Bist du krank oder was?"). Fazit: Fleischgerichte 4 Punkte, Vegetrisches "Sondergericht" Schaffskäse mit Reis 0 Punkte, Wirt, 0 Punkte, Ambiente 3 Punkte, macht zusammen 2 Punkte.

The staff member who served us was arrogant, abrupt and tried to rip us off. There are better places in the area. Don't go there. Can't be good value when they are kids honest in their practices.

The Becherhus is a nice old pub with a fair choice or beers and food. The prices are not low but if you choose a dish from the daily menu you will get a good deal. Food and drinks are delicious and the waiters are friendly and fast. Would recommend!

A friend brought me here for some Croatian food. I like experiencing new things and this was a nice place to do it. The food was of high quality and nicely prepared though the salad bar was just OK. The combination of good quality, nice taste and good value makes it an easy choice if you are in the area. The service was average.

We entered the restaurant, and we were greeted by smiling faces and shown to our table, all was perfectly clean, the menu had a good selection at reasonable cost.the wine list was extensive.the food came cooked and presented to a high standard. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely new restaurant overlooking fields and valley - superb!We ventured off the main trail to this restaurant due to a family name connection. To be honest, I was expecting something older, but pleasantly surprised.It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and on such a fantastic day we sat outside overlooking the fields. Food was superb (I had the Pffaffenberger of course) while the mrs had fish. A couple of glasses of wine & beer, while our son played on the kids playground they have made for a fantastic Tuesday afternoon. Afterwards a walk through the adjacent woods to cap it all off.

I eat here 3 or 4 times per year and the food is always outstanding. Be prepared to wait as everything is prepared from fresh but is well worth the wait. Price is not for every day dining but then for this quality you would not expect it to be.Highly recommended!

Wonderful place at the end / beginning of a walk along the Korkenziehertrasse. Staff are always smiling and friendly and happy to cater for special requests. The portions are very generous, the food well-cooked, served hot, and delicious!The WCs are a bit old-fashioned but clean.

One of my favourite places in our region. They have kept up their brilliant service and choice of dishes to please every taste and pocket.Consistant excellence. Quite rare in our declining standards of gastrinomical service.The Solingen-Gräfrath historical market square is on the doorstep and can be enjoyed from their terrace in summer or from their window tables in colder climes.
