Situated in the heart of the village of Chamarel with its typical atmosphere and its waterspout gushing with water, and some minutes from the seven Colored Earth, the new restaurant is well known for its food and services. The Chef offers you the know-how
Accidently discovered this restaurant while coming back from Chamarel. The 'thali' served here is simply amazing.. even the plain old dal was delicious. We didn't had any driver as we drove a car to this place.. and we were pleasently suprised that we were offered 40% discount! Sans the discount, this place is costly.

Wapalapam is an authentic place located on the foothills of the beautiful Le Morne Brabant mountain that offers a perfect setting, turning a culinary experience into a memorable occasion, either for a Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Rok Flander (former Snowbo
We enjoyed two excellent meals at Wapalapam during our time in Mauritius. The food is distinctly Mauritian with a twist! The vibe is relaxed with good tunes and the restaurant is decorated with kite surfing boards. On our first visit, we arrived a little before lunch so settled in at a table outside with some cold drinks and perused the menu for lunch. We were too early for lunch but the team were extremely accomodating, bringing us food as soon as they could. We were very hungry after a hike up Le Morne Brabant so ordered quite a feast! Salt & pepper squid (very good); octopus salad (superb) grilled squid (very good), corn on the cob and a couple of more dishes. We totally over-ordered but ate the lot.Food was so good that we decided to come again for dinner a few days later. This time we sat inside and ordered beers and cocktails before ordering a starter to share and mains. This time going for tuna sashimi salad to start and a grilled fish of the day and the chicken curry. All were really delicious. Service once again was excellent - personable and professional. We had a really nice chat with the manager and at the end of the meal we were invited to pick a complimentary and delicious ice cream from the newly opened ice cream parlour on the property. If you are in the area, it's well worth stopping in for a bite to eat!

Our restaurant is a year-round, all-day feast for both the taste buds and eyes of both locals and tourists visiting this quaint region in the southwestern uplands of Mauritius. Our food is our best excuse to share with our guests our knowledge and history
I was able to make lunch reservations online prior to our arrival to Mauritius. We came at noon on a Sunday (September 15). They have their own parking lot. It is small and I can see it quickly filling up. From the parking lot, you can also walk to the Viewpoint but it really isn't necessary. The restaurant has better views. We ordered:Crab Cake Salad (this is actually an appetizer) - 450 MURTandoori Whole Baby Chicken - 675 MURWater - 95 MURFor the crab cake salad, I could not taste any crab. Not sure where the crab went. The tandoori chicken was pretty good but quite overpriced for chicken. Service is also mediocre. They take your order and bring you the food. It was funny because when they brought the bill, they said tips were not included. If there was service, we would have tipped. They accept credit cards.I suppose people don't really come here for the food because the views are amazing.

Offering a spectacular view over the sparkling sea, the Blue Marlin opens for all meals and specializes in fresh fish and seafood. The restaurant's signature giant marlin hung from the ceiling in the grand dining room sets the tone and theme. Blue shades,
Romantic tables close to the beach, gourmet dishes, lovely personnel and perfect piano music entertainment during the dinner. Among the various restaurants that the Paradis Beachcomber hotel offers, the Blue Marlin was our favorite one for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A good choice of both meat and fish dishes and the wonderful Mauritian multicolored sea landscape. Highly suggested.

Fresh fish and lobster, nice local cuisine with a beautiful view of "l'ile aux fourneaux"
We spent our last dinner in Mauritius with Jose at his home / restaurant and it was the most lovely evening. While we ate at many great restaurants during our trip at our resorts (we stayed at the St. Regis, Westin, and Shanti Maurice), this meal was by far our favorite. We were the only people there that night and it was really like having a family meal. Jose invited us in and we ate delicious samosas in his living room. Then adjourned to the porch for an incredible crab soup and fish curry. We got to talk to Jose and learn all about his fascinating life and ask him the questions we had about Mauritius. The food is out of this world. Jose studied culinary arts in Paris and had two Mauritian restaurants there before he moved back and that level of incredible food was felt. Only tip is that it's a little hard to find at night and there's no parking lot. So if you have a car, just know you can park across the street near the beach.

Hi, I was there with family we had book in advance. However the service was mediocre.. Home made beverages like ice tea or fresh juices where not available even though they are present on the menu, and the excuse was « I forgot to do this morning ». We had to ask for the basics like a napkin, salt, pepper or even chili, which is a shame for the latter as they had a Mauritian buffet. The kids dish came 20min after they had started eating. (They ate the adults menu). There also is a flying dodo sign at the bar but only phoenix beer was available. The place is nice, the staff smiles and I would have loved to give a positive feedback on the place, but being near so many luxury hotels one would have expected a slightly better service.I would try again if the service gets better.

Hello, everyone. Recently I had an amazing holidays in Mauritius island. We rent a villa in the south. And as I don't like to cook we went out for lunch and dinner. And we found a really great place to eat - Sunset restaurant in Bel Ombre. It gives you a wide selection of different types of cuisine - Creole, Chinese, European. We were surprised with welcoming atmosphere and enjoyed the food and cocktails. We visited the restaurant few times. The service was fast and the food was delicious. Also we were pleased with the prices. It's much cheaper than food in the hotel's restaurants. Their chef is a professional and passionate about his work. I can recommend this place to all the tourists and local people.
