Cute little coffee cart in front of a cedar gift shop just outside Anbo. Opens early (7am) and the owner is super-friendly. Good coffee (hot and cold), yummy malty hot chocolate and a selection of fresh fruit juices. We went every morning of our stay on Yakushima, it was that good!

The food is good (try the ogura toast), as is the coffee, the decor, the music, the view... everything really. The woman who runs the cafe is very friendly and kind. There's a menu in English.

Coming from Kagoshima, our ferry arrived in the North of Yakushima at Miyanoura. Nevertheless, we booked a hotel in the south of the island because I am very fond of natural onsen (hotspring areas) located at the coast. We were five people and booked all three rooms in Pension Blue Drop so we were the only guests. Even preparing for the trip, we already had received a lot of valuable information by Yuki san, the owner of the house. She is extremely helpful and even helped us booking the ferry which was very busy during Golden week. She is absolutely fluent in English and a wonderful lady ! The rooms are very nice and offer a lot of space, two toilets (outside the room), one big bathroom, washing machine - very covenient setup for travellers. Dinner was excellent, we enjoyed the fresh sashimi and delicious fish meals. Breakfast sandwiches were freshly prepared and very healthy. We spent a wonderful week there and really loved the place !
