Staff were friendly enough, but my main course (the trout) was quite bland, and the portion very small - and I had deliberately chosen the "large" portion size. Looking back at the many 'excellent' reviews, I have to confess that I'm suspicious: look at them yourself and make your own judgement. The view was wonderful, but would I go back again myself? Sorry, but no.

We hiked to Trummelbach Falls and stopped here for a bite before ascending to the top. It's cafeteria style. The food is good, relatively inexpensive, and the place is very clean. A nice interlude when hiking in the Lauterbrunnen valley.

I enjoyed grabbing a mocha to go and enjoyed the sunshine outside while I walked around town. Lots of character inside, with cute little knickknacks and souvenirs.

We have owned a chalet in Wengen for over 12 years and know Mary's Cafe well. I was therefore somewhat surprised we had managed to secure a reservation for a party of 12 in the height of the Xmas/New Year season with just a days notice. Perhaps that should have been the indicator that the regular clientele have for good resson decided to give Mary's Cafe a wide berth. When we arrived for late lunch at 13:30, after morning ski, our table was not ready. We were seated outside along the wall of the restaurant in the sunshine with a view of the ski slope. The service was poor; there was plenty of staff but they seemed to be young, inexperienced and unfocussed. We had to chase missing drinks, plates and cutlery. The kids mostly went for alpen macaronni - a firm favourite - and most adults went for the fondue. The fondue was ok but the meat platters we traditionally order to accompany the fondue were very disappointing. In the past the platter comprised only the delicious local cured meat; now it is a selection comprising some of the local meat but also includes very ordinary cheap cut salami, saucise de lyon (polony) and ham! This is not acceptable as Mary's Cafe is expensive. For 6 kids and 6 adults it came to CHF37 a head; we had one bottle of wine, a beer, and fizzy drinks and water for the kids; no starter, dessert or coffee! Will certainly steer clear of this overpriced poor service establishment for the forseeable future.Dear visitorwe are sorry about the poor service and would like to excuse ourselves but, we have been completly overrun and will due our upmost to get the service back to the usual Level.Sorry for the inconvenienceKind regardsGuido Meyer

A Cafe that currently operates during the summer months only. Open on a daily basis serving freshly made breakfast, premium coffe, homemade paninis, sandwiches, wraps, burgers and cakes.
Only cash is accepted here. Burgers are of good quality though the flavor is average. No charred flavor. Prices are high as expected in Switzerland. Soup is ok though a bit too salty. Variety of seating inside and outside. Quite comfortable. Food are brought to the table.
