Things to do in Tacloban
I was hanging out with friends trying out this new coffee shop near our school. The burger was bad! Really bad! I'm really not going back to that shop because of my experience. The meat they used was sitting in the freezer for too long and was already going bad, and it was badly cooked which made me regret getting anything from that shop. I'm sorry but I really think quality control should be checked.
As soon as I walked in the door I nearly walked out again due to the acrid odour, but my friends seemed not to notice, so we went and sat down. Only one other table was occupied which i think says a lot. We ordered a set menu at about 1500 Pesos for 4-6 people. I ate a bit of the fish - which was dry - and the prawns from the soup but the rest i couldn't stomach. The pudding was ok though.
Nice place to hangout and have your coffee. Got a view of the Cancabato Bay and the airport. Different coffee tp choose from.

Although quite expensive by Filipino standards the staff are excellent and food quite good. There is both a downstairs and upstairs restaurant. Downstairs serves American food and upstairs Spanish. You can eat of either menu on request. I recommend the Spanish food which is delicious. I don't recommend the cakes, I have a feeling it's quite a slow turnover.

Brews + Breakfast offers a wide array of artisanal coffees, with beans ground right on the spot, per order. They also have quite a good menu with different sandwiches, pasta dishes and desserts. The decor is warm and cozy, and quite Instagramable. My favorite was the avocado and lime cheesecake, which was superb. I'm thankful that we went there during avocado season.
If you can Ignore, its clumsy entrance, chaotic location, shouting and screaming students who always occupy the seats, you can enjoy the flavor of some good tea.
Located in the Ironwood Hotel, this small cafe has nice drink and dessert options. Staff was quite attentive and friendly. I enjoyed a wonderful cafe mocha. I also had the mango-peach crepe. It was tasty and beautifully presented. The prices are reasonable, especially for the specialty coffees. I will definitely return during my stay. Also, you get free Wi-Fi access for one device for the day.

More than a year after typhoon Haiyan came and brought devastation to Tacloban City, this restaurant has opened once again to serve its loyal and new customers. We tested a number of their offerings and the establishment remained to its humble beginnings of serving only the well thought menu cooked and/or prepared with the finest and most natural of ingredients. I should know...the cook is my wife.
