Interesting cafe situated by a river/canal and it is certainly very popular. We have been twice now, the last time for lunch. There's a relatively simple menu...some Thai, some pasta dishes and some steak dishes. Everything is very reasonably priced which, no doubt, contributes to its popularity. Don't forget to pick up a cuddly toy on your way in as this is used as a type of table identification. We ordered our food and one meal arrived within about ten minutes which was fine. We sat....and sat...and sat. Eventually, we managed to attract the attention of one of the staff and enquired about the other meal. 40 minutes after ordering, the meal arrived by which time I had finished my pasta. No apology...no explanation ....nothing. It was obvious that the order had been forgotten. Yes, it was busy but there is no excuse for forgetting a customer order.

This is the only restaurant near the lake that serves European food (they have Thai food as well).Food is very delicious and beautifully served, they also have outstanding cocktails.Place itself is clean and nicely decorated, manager speaks descent English.Must visit.

In the middle of no-where, the Khao Sok Riverside Cottages Restaurant is a relatively good place to order any Thai dishes you fancy. Starting from the simple Pad Thai to the popular Southern dishes, if the ingredients are available they can prepare them. The best way to order the right dish is to ask them what they have available in the kitchen. Tell them also your preference and non-preference so they can prepare the dish from available meat or fish in the kitchen to your liking. Thai is quite creative in their cooking and they might come up with a few surprise dishes for you. However just remember this is a dining place in the middle of no-where.
