I go to Puerto Rico a couple of times per year with my wife and kids to visit my in-laws, travel around, do research, etc. I've been to tons of "panaderías" and this is still my favorite. Their "pan de agua" (the Puerto Rican version of a baguette) is out of this world: crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. It is great to eat plain, for toast in the morning, or for a sandwich at lunch. The also have a fabulous assortment of baked goods that will suit any age and taste. Their coffee is excellent -- they usually have a n assortment of freshly-ground beans to choose from. If you want to have a meal there, the food is great (especially the sandwiches)t: breakfast, lunch or a late snack are all good options. If you are a tourist saying in San Juan, it is worth the 15 minute drive to the superb of Guaynabo to stop at Apolo and eat like the locals do.
Well hidden in San Patricio Plaza is a wonderful little bookstore/cafe that has a wide assortment of books in Spanish AND English and an-eager-to-help staff who will guide you through. This is literally a hidden gem, but look for it in the overhead passage that leads to the parking garage. Imagine yourself in a novel, on the threshold of an alternate universe, then pass through the portal and voilà! The comfort of books and the good company of book lovers.
Açai express, the place to go for the newest food trend in puerto rico. Pros: big variety of toppings, great bowls and fast service biggest plus good prices in comparison with other places Cons: no place to sit, just a food truck no tables around then again there is no space.
First time at this hidden neighborhood gem in Suchville, Guaynabo Puerto Rico. Very nicely set up with excellent service and an attractive menu for quick lunch. It offers typical dishes like soups made with local ingredients. Hamburgers and sandwiches are great. Prices are reasonable. Will go back to try other plates on the menu.
Mozza Pizzeria Moderna is a cozy family place in which you can enjoy the best pizza in Puerto Rico to a wagyu steak imported from Australia. We have a policy of not charging uncorking. Similarly, Mozza regularly offers dishes off its menu that is elaborat
We order two different pizzas, pepperoni, onions and garlic and Spain chorizo onion and pepper. I enjoy both of them, a little more the Spanish chorizo. It is a nice place, good service and great food. For me is expensive but I’ll be back.

Tía is a cafe/bakery during the day and an event space during the night. Its simple menu is seasonal and uses local produce whenever possible.
We sat outside under the awning in the cool December breeze as it drizzled a bit.Toasts were all great. We each ordered a different one. The goat cheese, walnut, and honey toast was really special. The pumpkin pancakes were really good too.One drawback - Puerto Rican drivers love to honk and seating was close to the road.

We stopped in here to eat after trying to eat across the street and not enjoying it very much. This place is so charming and the staff was very nice. We ordered the leaning tower appetizer. It was fresh and delicious, we had a few drinks, including my first latte, and a dessert. Everything was good. I wanted to sit In this place all evening. I hope to come back one day.

First time here. A group of friends of mine and I met for breakfast on a Sat at 9:30am. The place had a few people, but got more tables an hour later (never crowded).Immediate impression: very pretty, contemporary decor, clean. Jerry, our server, was very nice. Food prices are not cheap so you won't like it if you expect to pay Puerto Rican bakery/cafeteria prices for breakfast; portions are reasonable, the food tasted fresh, very pretty presentation, and good quality. Whenever I visit PR, after a few days of eating "criollo", I feel the urge of eating healthier, non-traditional breakfast (like their veggie omelette with goat cheese), and this is why I don't mind paying more for a place like Café Olé. Their side of potatoes was very yummy! One thing I did not like: the kitchen staff was behind and it took them very long to prepare the food (and not all of us got it at the same time). Soy milk available but no decaf.
