Top 9 Cafe food in Alappuzha, Kerala, India

Reviews on Cafe food in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. Often compared to Venice due to its abundance of canals, Alappuzha is the gateway to the backwaters of Kerala. Rent a houseboat for an up-close view of the palm-lined waterways. In August, the snake-boat race is a remarkable festival—each traditional boat has a crew of over 100 local sailors.

The Cafe Catamaran was situtaed a minute from the place we stayed at and we spent quite a bit of time there in our 4 days in Alappuzha. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the place is situated right on the beach. It is frequentd by both tourists and locals. The food is varied, fresh fish, pasta, noodles and Indian dishes. I particularly liked the chicken Kadai, which was full of flavour. Lots of veggie options as well. There is a nice crowd there in the evenings and a chiiled atmosphere. A great palce to hang out.

My wife and I live in Delhi, and so when we heard we could get a proper hamburger we dropped what we were doing and headed straight there. Immediately when we walked in the door we felt right at home. The restaurant is clean, tidy, and the owners were friendly and served us themselves. What kind of brews do they have? The coffee kind. Sadly, they don’t have a liquor license, which seemed fairly common in Kerala. In fact, the owner who spoke with us said that selling beer would probably be detrimental to his business with local customers. No worries though, what we were really here for were the burgers. And they did not disappoint. I had the regular 2x2 which was two patties, cheese, lettuce, pickles and tomatoes, while my wife had the 2x2 that came with a bit more masala sauce. Both were exceptional - and not just because a good burger is a rarity here, but they were honestly that good. Their shop would do well if it were located in downtown anywhere USA. If you’re in town, you should definitely drop in. Thank you for your great review sir, we hope you guys enjoyed our food and hospitality.
