It's located in Bakkhali about half an hour to forty five minutes drive by local toto from Bakkhali Tourist lodge. There is also some lodge developed by Fisheries department of Government of West Bengal. Beach is accessible by walking for about 10 minutes on a paved way from the vehicle parking place. This paved way goes through the mangrove jungle on the beach. The sand on this beach is of very fine grain almost feels like dust. Sea is not rough on this beach. Upto quite some distances in the sea the beach is flat. There is a watch tower on the beach which one could climb by stairs.

Recently we had the opportunity to visit the famous Kapil Muni's temple located in Sagar island, South 24 Pargana, West Bengal, India near the Bay of Bengal, the confluence of river Hoogly (Ganga) and Baratala river. We were fortunate to pray inside Kapil Muni'r temple three times including an evening aarti and offered puja after a bath in morning hours in a very nice environment. As we had one night stay at Sagar Island, We could also visit many other religious places like Manasa Devi temple, Nagaraja temple ,Ramakrishna Mission at Manasa dwip and Yogendra Matth & Swami Omkarnath temple and Bharat Sevashram Sangha etc. Famous Ganga Sagar Mela generally starts in the first week of January and continues till mid January every year. With a holy dip in the Ganga Sagar on the early hours of makar Sankranti day( generally falls on 14th January) the offerings to the Kapil Muni'r temple is considered as a most holy ritual for Hindus. Very very large gathering of devotees take place during this auspicious time in Sagar Island, Ganga Sagar every year. One of the option to reach Ganga Sagar from Kolkata is by road one has to reach Kakdwip Lot No.8 Jetty No.4 and cross River Muri Ganga by passenger vessel ferry service to reach a place known as Kachuberia, Sagar island. Thereafter again by road one has to travel around 32Km to reach Kapil Muni'r temple. It is advisable to cross the river by ferry service preferably in the morning hours before 10.30hrs as due to low tide time no ferry service operates and one may have to wait for 4/5 hours. Advisable to check tide timing and vessel service timing beforehand. Moreover one should try to reach Ganga Sagar before noon. It is believed that the devotee at least once in life time should try to visit this holy place and offer prayer. Hope the review is helpful.

Diamond harbour is very near to the junction of river meets the ocean. Its a prime link to kolkata port and a connector to the big ships and containers . Sit idle and enjoy local shop hot tea or coffee. Try the.ghugni bread or bread toast or deem toast etc with the cool breeze of ganga.

This watch tower oversees the deep mangrove forest of Sunderban with Sundari & Garan trees. If you are lucky you can perhaps get a glimpse of the Royal Bengal Tigers too. You can definitely see deers.
