The night tour at Masaya is 100% worth your time, money, and effort. There aren’t that many accessible places on earth where you can stare down into a pool of molten lava. See the lava shift; hear the earth churn. We were mesmerized. Note: when you are waiting in the car line for your turn to go to the top, it is worth it to get out of your vehicle to explore the visitor center.

A beautiful spot which reminded me of Crater Lake. Nearby many vendors of inexpensive handicrafts for sale.

Only thing you pay for is parking. Tons of little shops and restaurants. Absolutely incredible views. Nice a cool and typically windy

Wonderful museum or visitor center included in your park entry fee. Well worth checking out and spending 30-60 minutes. They’ve just added a restaurant as well. Lots of cool charts, maps, animals, and stuff worn and used in the recent crossing of the volcano on the tight rope

We are Samaritan Tours. We provide tours to show visitors the unique historical, ecological and cultural heritage of Nicaragua. As experience tour guides and natives of Nicaragua, we are qualified to care for our guests' safety, comfort and translate and negotiate on their behalf. We are certified by Intur, the Nicaraguan Tourism Board. Most of our tours start in Masaya and usually go to the active Masaya Volcano, the old colonial city of Grenada and the nearby ecological wonder of Isletas de Granada, and a tour of the Mombacho jungle canopy.

Masaya Volcano National Park in Nicaraugua offers visitors a look at an active volcano. A daytime visit allows a 15 min look at the crater filled with smoke. Molten ava could not be seen on this daytime visit. You could feel heat from the smoke at the observation points. The volcano is surrounded by fields full of hardened lava from prior eruptions.

Nicaragua Market is a small company that offers authentic Nicaraguan goods. We work closely to local artisans and the price you see is a reflection of our fair value after partnering with our artists. When you purchase Nicaragua Market products you are helping to ensure that the trade of local Nicaraguan artistry remains a viable small business.
This is a breezy open air market in Masaya. This is a great place for gifts and souvenirs for your friends and family. This market is safe, open air, and caters mainly to tourists. There is something for everyone here in this market. The prices are fairly cheap, depending on who you go to. Some of the things you can buy are typical clothing, flags, hammocks, keychains, bracelets, hats, and so forth. We went as a family with a 7-year-old and he had fun picking up little souvenirs and knicknacks here in this market. Highly recommended for those looking for souvenirs and gifts to take home.
