Gauntlet, Eagle & Vulture park is the largest bird of prey park in the Northwest of England. With over 120 birds of prey, ranging from the smallest owls to the worlds largest eagle and Vultures it really is a haven for animal lovers. Gauntlet has two daily shows at 12.30 and 3 during the months March-Oct and during the winter months weekends only. As well as our two daily displays we have vulture feeding and meet & greet. We have a large children's play area with plenty of room for picnics. We are on the same site as Fryers garden centre and you can leave at anytime and come back for our displays. For those wishing to get closer we have bird of prey experiences which are run 7 days a week throughout the year. This gives people the opportunity to handle and fly the birds.
We visited the park with my elderly parents and two young grand children aged 6 and 11. We all had a wonderful experience with Meet and Greet sessions , the Vulture experience and the wonderful flying experience at the end of the day when over 30 birds gave an awe inspiring display set to music. What a great day out and very reasonable. We had a snack type lunch and coffees from the little cafe area but my daughter and partner along with their children went to the Garden Centre next door as they are gluten free. The birds are well looked after, well loved , staff are knowlegeable and enthuiastic. I cannot fault it at all.

A unique University of Manchester collection of 18th & 19th Century British paintings, decorative arts and grand interiors. Cheshire's hidden gem!
This is such a lovely tea room, a quiet unusual oasis away from other local town centre cafes. There is an interesting selection of teas, with the Turkish apple and peppermint being my favourite. We always go for the homemade scones with homemade jam which are just perfect. The quaint China and teapots make it extra special, (my favourite is Hamlet!), and an added bonus of a generous 2 cups of tea each. Owners always genuinely pleased to see us, so glad we discovered this place.

Knutsford Heritage Centre is the best way to discover Knutsford and Elizabeth Gaskell’s Cranford. Changing exhibitions tell the story of Knutsford and its people. Official Walking Tours of Knutsford run every Friday afternoon (at 2pm from May-October. The Centre also houses the famous Knutsford Tapestry, measuring 52 metres it took 4 years to complete and involved 3,000 people in the stitching. It captures the architecture and every day life of Knutsford in the year 2000.
As well as the astonishing tapestry, which the lady volunteers told us all about, there is a touching memorial to local soldiers killed in WW1 and a pretty courtyard garden kept up by one of the gardeners from Dunham Massey. If you want to find out a lot about Knutsford, this is for you. It is a small place, not suitable for very large groups.

A small Penny Farthing museum incorporated into a coffee-house/restaurant with a large selection of original Penny Farthings suspended and positioned around the restaurant.Additionally we have a model train circling the restaurant! We are set in beautiful Knutsford in a hidden courtyard, just off King Street. Book to avoid disappointment
We were having a day out at Tatton Park and wanted to get a late lunch in Knutsford. We happened upon the Penny Farthing and were delighted to find that they were not only Covid aware but taking responsible steps to keep the staff and customers safe. Delightful staff and fabulous food. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem.

Duck walking in! This is a great pub located in a very cool location. Sit out front and watch the traffic. The beer is cold, the snacks are plentiful. The locals are funny and well established. The ladies behind the bar are beyond sweet! Cheers!

There are step stones or lots into the lake. Not for us. Children and teens all had a go. Nice place to sit and fish, watch people and have a picnic.
