Your jaw will drop at the gorgeous view of the Mediterranean from Eze, a charming hilltop town on the Cote d’Azur. Its beautiful cobblestone streets and hot-pink bougainvillea are a far cry from the glamour of Cannes or St-Tropez—and for travelers who could care less about celebrities and megayachts, that’s quite appealing. Shoppers will delight in the many local perfumeries and art galleries.

We ordered the jamon with goat cheese sandwich and another one with chicken and emmental cheese. Both were huge, each 7€ and absolutely delicious! The restaurant itself is lovely as well. Great place to sit down after going up hill, take a snack and a wine!

Garden of tropical plants on the crest of the hill that dominates Eze.
The entrance to the garden is near the top - after you have strolled the narrow streets of the amazing Eze Village. The entrance fee is 6 Euros pr person. It is a beautiful garden with so many different cactuses living next to delicate, sensual and mysterious earth goddesses from by Jean-Philippe Richard. And the view = the very best you can get!

The signs at the bottom of the trail suggest an hour to climb, but if your feeling up for a challenge you can break 30mins. Prepare yourself for 350m of ascent over 1.8km (19% gradient overall). That sounds intense but it's perfectly manageable. The trail itself is well trodden and very easy to follow, pretty much one way up. Strongly recommend walking boots or trail shoes, but trainers will probably be fine in the dry. There are plenty if good photo opportunities of the bay and coastline below. Once you get to the top there is Eze old town which is amazing to stroll around. Enjoy the climb, it's worth it for the view!

Tourism information of Eze and the exotic garden of Eze. Guided tour of the medieval village and the exotic garden.
We loved visiting here and walking through all the windy streets. It's a fabulous little town and I can see how great it would be when all the shops are open. We wish there were more stores to walk in during our visit.

While staying in nearby Nice, I took a day trip to Eze. A fantastic and lovely village with this beautiful church and the cactus gardens right next to it.Great views from the church and gardens. Be sure to visit the shops and cafes down the little side walks.I recommend the a shop (sorry forget it's name but you will find it) that sells local Mandarinette d'eze, a lovely liqueur. The lemon one is nice too. The church itself is peaceful and is fantastic little place I would love to see again.
