The Okanagan Valley, in the interior of British Columbia, is a popular Canadian vacation destination known for skiing in the winter and watersports in the summer. The area's quaint towns and lush vineyards are connected by a network of clear blue lakes and rivers and surrounded by rolling, sun-dappled hills. Head to Kelowna for one of several wine festivals or to Penticton for the sugary summer Peach Festival. To the south is Osoyoos, home to an arid desert filled with rare plants and animals.

If you spot Ogopogo, the legendary lake monster said to inhabit these waters, you'll make headline news, but other than that, you're sure to enjoy all the recreational activities this 82-mile long lake has to offer: swimming, boating, parasailing and all types of water sports.
This is one f the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in Canada. Beautiful beaches, clean water and gorgeous scenery all through the valley. A “must experience”!

Known as the "warmest lake in Canada," Osoyoos Lake stretches fourteen miles and is a favorite for summer recreation and winter sports.
Walking along the lake shore was such a wonderful relaxing and de-stressing experience. It did help, the time of year did help create this tranquility for us. I would seriously recommend a walk along the lake in the off season. It really cleared out my mind of all the "junk" that was there.

High diving board, rope swing and safe swimming areas overseen by lifeguard and with a concession stand. All for FREE. Very nice!

Our Heaven Lots of parking available and eateries for take out dining, and eat on the beach or benches along the boardwalk. People were socially distancing and casual drinking, water was warm and just right. Lovely sand and extremely clean, no garbage or litter whatsoever. Down the road from downtown. Lovely.

This is a mainstay of any drive to Osoyoos on Hwy 3. USUALLY looks pretty cool. Right now though, we have had so much water that you can’t actually see the spots.... hopefully in the fall the water will recede and you’ll be able to enjoy one of my favourite natural beauties in the area.

Also known as the Okanagan River Channel, this water way is man-made and was orginally constructed to control flooding and water flow from Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake. Although known for it wild rides on inner tubes during the summer months, I enjoy walking along its banks and enjoying the sites. Many types of water birds claim the Channel as their home as do the fish who swim in it. As residents of Penticton, my sister and I often bring our two small dogs (on lead) for walks along this 7 kilometer stretch of trail. This family tourist attraction is wheel chair friendly and free unless you choose to use the commercial transportation provided to bring you back to Riverside Drive where your adventure started.
