Century home, built by Irish immigrants. Renovated with the charm of yesterday, but with modern conveniences, private baths, air conditioning, wireless, direcTV in all rooms, bikes to use and just a short walk into downtown area.
First time staying at a bed and breakfast as a young couple & we were extremely impressed with everything. Patty is most likely one of the sweetest people i've ever met travailing. she was very helpful with scheduling as our trip was planned sort of last minute. The house and room was spotless, we could have not asked for more. much more affordable then other options on the island. Ideal for a weekend getaway. We plan to go back as soon as we can. highly recommend.

We are a luxury resort with 4 rooms. All rooms have private baths, queen beds, and views on the lake. Three rooms have jacuzzis and one room is a suite with bedroom, living room with sofa sleeper, and kitchenette. Come and enjoy a romantic getaway, or a nice relaxing vacation. We are located on the east side of the island. We are right on the lake and have a dock you can enjoy.
First of all this property is no longer a B&B; you must book it directly through the realtor; search for "stay on kelley's island" and you will find it. When you rent it, you rent the full house which is 6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths. The good parts: - We had a group of 10; 5 adults and 5 kids. The bedrooms are large and very accommodating for a group that size. Each bedroom except one has its own en suite bathroom. - The kitchen and living area accommodated our group very well. The kitchen was well equipped and everything functioned well - there are 2 dishwashers which was great for large meals and frequent cooking which we did. - The decor is modern and it is well decorated. - The view of Lake Erie is beautiful and you have views from 4 of the 6 bedrooms - The "man cave" large bedroom with no lake view on the 2nd floor is great for teenagers as it has its own living area, TV and small kitchen - There is a full laundry room with full size washer and dryer which worked out well. - - There is a grill outside - we did not use it. - The dock off of the backyard was fun to fish from and we caught a variety of fish there in the mornings and evenings. Sculpin population is growing exponentially so you will catch a lot of those which can get frustrating until you get a fun bass or drum. - The location is very private and quiet and we did not have any problem finding it. We brought vehicles on the Ferry and drove from the Ferry dock to the house - 5 min drive. The bad parts: - This property is expensive - we paid $1200/night; ok, thats fine - we had a large group and wanted a place where we could all stay together; but, no lines or towels are provided with that rate. It was an EXTRA $450 to have linens and towels provided. If you figure 6 beds and towels - to do the laundry for that, maybe 6 hours of works - that's paying $75/hour just for linens. And while things are washing, other cleaning can be done. Its really an outrageous amount to charge for linens and we almost didn't stay here due to that. In the end, we did and paid for it because we didn't want to bring all that stuff with us. The linens and towels were good quality but we were all disappointed with the cost. - The wifi is spotty at best; you really only get a decent connection in the family room; bedroom connections are poor; they need to install wifi booster points in a couple of areas in the house - The master bedroom downstairs with a large en suite bathroom has no door to the bathroom - everything including the toilet is completely open to the bedroom - a very strange setup - The lighting at night in the family room and kitchen is very very very (did I say VERY) dim. To the point, it is hard to see to walk across the room. We had a repair person come out and replace some burned out bulbs but that made no difference. More lighting needs to be installed in those rooms. - There are tons of seagulls which hang out on the dock when people aren's there - that's fine - except for the mess they leave behind; it would have been great to have a hose on the dock (looks like its plumbed but no connection or doesn't function) to clean off the mess - The sinks in each of the en suite bathrooms have very little counter space - again strange for such a large house and there is plenty of room in the bathrooms to have larger counters - The pans in the kitchen need to be replaced; many of them are scorched on the bottom and are a mess to clean Overall we had a fun time, enjoyed the house and Kelley's Island but there are areas for improvement that would make this a 5 star property.

The Eagle's Nest an island inn is located on Kelleys Island in Lake Erie approx. 60 miles west of Cleveland. The car ferry, Kelleys Island Ferry Boat, brings visitors to the Island from a small town called Marblehead. This is the only car ferry to service the island. We have 4 rooms of different sizes to accommodate your stay on Kelleys. Each room has AC, Direct TV, outside deck and WiFi available. Our inn overlooks 2 acres. We have a pool on the premises. The setting is quiet and comfortable with a large deck that overlooks the property. We look forward to your stay at the Eagle's Nest.
If you are looking for a quiet, quaint and cozy place in a beautiful setting, this is the place to stay! This was our first visit to The Eagles Nest and we really enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful and a short ride or walk to the downtown area. The room was clean and cozy with a kitchenette that had what we needed. The best part was a nice porch off the room where we could unwind in a peaceful and pretty setting. Mark and Robin Volz, the owners are very nice and accommodating and were very kind and helpful to us during an unusual circumstance: A Nor'easter came in that shut down the ferry to/from the island which kept us from leaving the island. Robin had kept us informed of the situation and availability and options to leave the island. As it turned out, we ended up flying off as it was the only means off for a few days. Mark was kind to drive us to the airport to catch the flight. Robin and Mark are truly nice people and went above and beyond to help us out. Not everyone does that. We were very happy with our stay and plan on returning on our next trip to Kelleys Island.

So much to love: the great view; the home-baked treats; the easy walk/bike to the main business district; easy bike rentals; the hummingbirds; the great advice about hiking trails and restaurants . . . If you want to be near the shared bathroom, get the First Mate's room. If you want the porch access, get the Captain's Suite (pictured). The mattress is firm. There are also 2 rooms upstairs. The hosts can help you learn about the house's great history, the Island's history, and the variety of interesting birds there. Social distancing and safety are taken very seriously. We will be back!

It was such a nice, clean beautiful place. Nice pool , close to downtown, and golf rental. The breakfast was amazing. Gracie was the one to be there, and she was so sweet and helpful on everything. We will be back, Loved this place! Better than a hotel...

I've been bringing groups and traveling to Himmelblau for many years. It is one of my favorite lodging locations on Kelleys Island. It is peaceful and has a beautiful view of the Lake Erie sunrise. I love the Victorian style woodwork and bed rooms. And the remodeling makes the kitchen and living space comfortable. There is a huge porch which over looks the lake. Occasionally deer are seen in the back yard with many different kinds of birds, including Eagles, flying overhead. Kelleys Island itself is a quaint island with friendly locals and everything one needs for an awesome respite. I usually bring my bike when I travel to this, the largest Lake Erie Island in the USA. I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

We loved staying here. The previous owner passed away and her daughter is in the process of getting it up and going again. The location is excellent because it's right next to the ferry. It's nothing fancy right now so if that's what you're looking for, keep going and pay the high prices. Its like staying at your Grandmother's house. We had a tiny room with a shared bathroom with a clawfoot tub. It was perfect with antique furniture and a quilt on the bed. They have a huge dock over the lake with 2 cozy chairs to share a bottle of wine and watch the ferry and boats come and go. The owner made us feel very comfortable and we love talking with her and her visions for updating the place. We can't wait to return.

food is excellent and high quality/ fresh. My wife and I come every year to Kelleys and have all of our meals at The Island House. Wonderful food and staff. Their breakfast is the best. I usually get their bison burger for dinner
