Camden, Maine is proud to call itself the "Jewel of the Coast." A beautiful seaport town with a harbor full of sail boats, Camden has been used as the setting for so many movies, from Carousel to Peyton Place, that it is what many people think of when they think of New England. With a series of annual festivals running all year round, including the US Toboggan Championships, the Summer HarborArts Juried Arts & Craft Show and Windjammer Weekend, there is always something to do in Camden.

The Camden Maine Stay Inn is an elegant bed-and-breakfast inn that is open for year-round enjoyment. The charming, relaxed and friendly Inn was built in 1802, is the second oldest residence in Camden and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each of the eight beautiful, romantic guest rooms has its own distinctive character. Many rooms in the Inn have wide-plank wood floors that are original to the house, and several rooms have old-fashioned gas heating stoves or fireplaces. Guests can socialize in our comfortable living room, play or listen to the antique Steinway grand piano in our parlor, or relax in front of the fireplace and watch a favorite TV show or movie in our den. The Inn has a spacious, beautifully landscaped garden adjacent to the house which includes walking paths, sitting areas and a stream flowing from nearby Mt. Battie. A full gourmet breakfast is included with your room and homemade cookies, coffee and tea are available every afternoon and evening.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary by taking a last minute trip up to Maine to see it's beautiful coastline. We booked a room on Booking.com. Wow! First, the owners/operators of the Maine Stay Inn (Janis and Pete) are amazing! These folks are super friendly and their hospitality was fantastic. We stayed in the Tierney room on the second floor which had a nice king bed and fill en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was simple, yet delicious with everything being sourced locally. The garden is truly a beautiful place to enjoy your morning coffee. If you are going up to see the Maine coast, this place is in a great location to do so. We went north to Lubec and south to Freeport during our stay there. Loved everything about this place!

Late writing this (my profile seems to have vanished), but my wife and I had a wonderful time in Camden and at Abigail's Inn in January. DO NOT fret about going to Maine in the winter! Yes, we were delayed a day leaving Portland due to a blizzard, but it was an adventure! Our time in Camden was great for scenery, food, and lodging. Dave was a fantastic host and we're so grateful he didn't shut down for the winter and his wonderful B&B was available to us. This was our first visit to Maine in the middle of winter and we look forward to our return trip no matter when it is, and if we're stopping in Camden, it'll be at Abigail's Inn.

Our recent May trip to Maine found my little group of 4 staying at this charming little B&B in Camden. James and Gary are superb hosts and offer so much kind attention. We appreciated the close distance to shops and restaurants. They have done a great job decorating this well over 200-year-old inn. During our 3 night stay, we were rewarded with a delicious breakfast each morning in the bright dining room. Our decorated rooms brought a neat New England flair that was very comforting. The hosts have many connections and have lots of information about the area so you can get good advice on where to eat, shop, or where the nearest lighthouse is. I would happily stay here again!

We just completed a 3-day off stay. The inn is beautifully maintained and well situated just a five-minute walk from Camden and 10-minute walk from Rockport. Very gracious, knowledgable host and superb breakfasts. We plan to return and highly recommend.

This property is an odd mix of quality. On the positive side - Great location. A very short walk to the village and restaurants; Awesome views from the rooms over the river; water racing under our room (#1). Our room and bathroom were very large and reasonably well appointed. Seemed mostly clean. The negative - The bed was saggy, sqeaky and uncomfortable. Carpet was stained. The lobby area was awful. Cheesy, dirty, sparsely furnished and almost never staffed. We also stayed in room #5 due to unavailability of #1 for all nights. This bed was much more comfortable. Room was pretty. Overall, I would recommend it but with realistic expectations.

We had high expectations of our stay as this is a R&C property, and it certainly didn't disappoint! We stayed in the New Amsterdam Suite which was well appointed and included amenities such as a gas fireplace, steam shower, hydrotherapy tub and a front porch to enjoy the lovely view! The king size bed was comfortable, towels were plentiful and soft, and the toiletries provided were good quality. The breakfast, which we had in our room and enjoyed on the porch, consisted of Lobster Benedict and traditional breakfast, and was excellent as well! We certainly appreciated the friendly and helpful staff which helped make our stay so memorable - thanks Sarah, Emmit, Ron, Mike, and team!
