Like Rome, Bamberg sits on seven hills, though these are lush, green Bavarian ones. You’ll find all sorts of architecture here, so enjoy exploring the cobbled streets. Plenty of shopping and museums await you, as do nine different breweries. The city loves markets and festivals, especially around Christmas.

I spent two nights in Molitor in November 2021 travelling solo to discover my ancestors' roots in the beautiful city of Bamberg and in Frankonia. The hotel is perfect for discovering the old city - especially for short midnight walks when those old German cities are the best. The personnel was extremely kind and helpful, and the room was a terrific value for the price I paid. A room in a XIV century building with the charme of those old buildings but also with a perfect modern German bathroom and a comfortable bed. What else might a traveler ask for? Tip: the hotel is located just a few minutes away from the famous Bamberger brewery Schlenkerlа. This is really convenient after a few beers there ?

One of the oldest hotels with a very nice flair in the center of the old city. You can reach everythig by feet in 2 or 3 minutes.
My husband and I stayed there with our German friends who had stayed there before. The hotel is cozy. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is very good. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The location is great! It is centrally located. I would stay there again!

Also discover the new Everyone`s Bar ! Treat yourself to a cocktail or a freshly tapped beer, enjoy a warm meal and relax in a stylish ambience.
Very functional hotel reminiscent of a UK travelodge being very clean, good comfy beds but no frills. Good wi-fi. It is located a fair walk outside of the centre but is situated very well for buses into and out of town including late night buses. Most buses finish early before 6/7pm. As we were staying 4 nights we bought a 7 day mobi-card for 2 people for €15.20 unlimited travel which is excellent value, but you have to purchase via a ticket machine as not available as an e-ticket on line. One criticism is the lack of a net curtain in bedroom, having a floor to ceiling window was like living in a goldfish bowl which could have frightened the neighbours first thing in the morning had we not been careful. The shower was good except that it could not be adjusted for height but could be hand held. Stating the hotel has a bar is a little optimistic as it consists of the hotel receptionist with beer and two bottles of wine, red or white. However I recommend you try the beer just for the sheer entertainment factor seeing it being ‘poured’. Overall we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would consider staying again as long as we remembered to pack a net curtain.

Location: not even 10 minutes good walk from Bamberg railway station, easy reach by car, too. The building was formerly a bank location, thoroughly rebuilt into in a boutique hotel. I got a room at upper floor with breathtaking view to the Cathedral (Dom), Kloster Michelsberg und die Old Castle (Altenburg). Room very nicely and sustainably furnished in a very lighted atmosphere, with trendy old wood, you feel really the touch not only of an architect but of a loving family that act as "Gastgeber" as it is said in German. The great surprise in the morning: you get a very rich and healthy breakfast "downstairs", assuming this is old building cellar... and you be welcome by smiley competent and welcoming personnel into the bank vault, furnished with safety box (old) and fully shining vault door... felt like in the Harry Potter saga, visiting Gringotts! Very modern way to welcome the guests, through a reception which is working business hours ...as in the former bank :), with a very efficient and flawless mail communication where you will be given entry code in case you arrive later, and all instructions to retrieve your key. DO NOT FORGET to take the key along when you venture out in Bamberg! Hotel offers no restaurant, but there's one just outside the hotel, really 5 steps, or stroll around Bamberg and spoil yourself with ample choice. thanks for the hospitality, Vielen Dank, jederzeit sehr gerne wieder! Servus!

This hotel is conveniently located in between the train station and the city centre. At night (Friday and Saturday) there was quite a bit of nightlife noise coming from outside, and also from people walking up the squeaking wooden stairs. The rooms looked dated, but were very spacious and comfortable. The shower area however, was unbelievably small. Friendly check-in and the breakfast (although a bit limited in choice because of the Corona measures) was fresh and of good quality.

Hier passt alles.

We had a superstay in Bamberg at our stop to a wintersport week in Austria. After graduating from university in the morning, we asked to check-in after normal times in the evening (9:30pm), which wasn't a problem at all. Bar was unfortunately closed, but after 30 minutes our door was knocked and the host of the hotel brought us two beers to celebrate our stay. How awesome! Day after we got a maervelous breakfast in their renovated villa, with nice food and a piano to play :) After leaving the hotel we got a phone call from the hotel that we forgot something, and just in time we could return to pick it up. Topservice! Therefore I'd certainly recommend this hotel to visit! We'd do it again if we'll get nearby somewhere in future!

If you’re looking for a family-friendly inn in Bamberg, look no further than Volkspark. While staying at Volkspark, visitors can check out St. Martin (1.8 mi) and Bamberg Altstadt (2.0 mi), some of Bamberg's top attractions. Rooms at Volkspark provide a flat screen TV, a seating area, and a desk. You can also enjoy an on-site restaurant while staying at Volkspark. Travelers looking to enjoy some schnitzel can head to Brauerei Spezial, Kachelofen, or Hofbrau. Otherwise, you may want to check out a cafe such as Cafe Muller, Cafe Zuckerstueck, or Cafe am Dom. Bamberg is also home to Altenburg, a popular castle that is not too far from Volkspark. The staff at Volkspark looks forward to serving you during your upcoming visit.
The Volkspark was very easy to find from the highway and very easy to park next to (there is a large car park right next door). We had a very welcoming and helpful hostess on arrival. She gave us a lot of good information about Bamberg. Our room was very spacious and airy, immaculately clean and modern. The bathroom was also spacious and new. It was a treat to have ample bathroom linens as well as somewhere to hang them all! The wifi was excellent and we were provided with complimentary sparkling water. The bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely soft blanket in the cupboard . There was no fridge or iron but there generally is not at three star hotels in Europe, I have found. There was no A/C or fan but thankfully the room was a good temperature, despite the summer heat outside. Breakfast was more than adequate, with the usual Continental meats, cheeses, yoghurt, cereals, breads and fruits. There is a bus stop to Bamberg Zentrum just a short walk down the street and Bamberg is a very beautiful and fascinating town. We dined in the hotel restaurant, which although it was a little pricey, was very delicious. Our waitress was so friendly and helped us a great deal with the menu which was (mostly) beyond our rusty German.
