A BBQ restaurant at a tourist attraction is the last place I would expect a good meal. Vernonâs has made me reconsider. This is good cooking. Get the BBQ plate which gives you 4 meats, 2 sides, cornbread and dessert. Add on a beer if youâd like. Despite the unlikely location, this is a very good joint.
Being a fairly new establishment I wasnât sure what to expect. We were pleased to find the menu had a variety of offerings. They also have a full bar. We ordered an array of things from crawfish to fried pimento cheese. The pulled pork was very tender and flavorful. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Ticket total was around $60 for 4 meals and drinks as well as 2 mixed drinks from bar. We will be back for sure.

We went and picked this up for lunch. There was one woman working the "To Go" counter and she was on the phone taking an order. Ten minutes later, she finally got off of the phone. While she was helping us, she was quite pleasant and helpful. Now the food:The pulled pork sandwiches are VERY dry. You need LOTS of sauce for these and I found the sauce quite sweet. The ham and cheese sandwiches were quite sad. I mean slices of white bread grilled? Please. The twice baked potato salad, the coleslaw, and the deviled eggs were good. The french fries were ok. Probably would not go back. The service was very good when she got to us and then they stumbled all over themselves trying to be helpful.

When driving back to the Memphis airport from a business trip in Mississippi, my colleagues and I found ourselves running a little early and a little hungry. Rather than take our chances with whatever restaurants are in the terminal, we found Coleman's BBQ. It's in an old 60's storefront and looked a little dicey from the outside, but inside was clean and inviting. The pulled pork sandwich with hot sauce and cole slaw was excellent. I wound up going back for seconds! It was a very inexpensive stop - less than $10 per person. Not a large menu - just a few excellent BBQ choices. This is a place where you go to the counter to order and they dish it up in front of you, then you take it to your table. Service was fast and cheerful. I'll definitely stop here again next time I fly into Memphis.

We stopped in here because the restaurant we were planning to go to isn't open for lunch. The food was good, we had pulled pork, pulled chicken and rib tips. The sides were a little disappointing. The fried pickles were super salty, French fries cold and soggy, the onion rings were a little burnt. The fried okra and fried green tomatoes were very good.

First and last time I hit this place. Step in get a smile, seat myself in the bar area, and then itâs a waiting game even though itâs virtually empty. Finally I get to order, waiting, waiting , waiting then another server asked me to place my order, only to find out the person working the bar who took my order said nah I never placed it. Then still waiting for my beer it final,y arrives with lots of foam. Second beer now, same amount of foam and finally my food arrives. The pasta chicken was good, a nice plateful of tastiness that made me temporarily forget being shorted on my IPAâs. Third ipa, a bit less foam and now Iâm waiting for my check. Finally the check comes and it leaves me with a simple decision, donât ever come back here.....We're really sorry to hear about your negative experience with us recently, especially about your long wait and your disappointment with your drinks. We'd like to speak to you about your visit and how we can improve. Please give our Guest Engagement Team a call at 1-800-983-4637 with more details. Thanks!

We normally go to the original Interstate but this location was more convenient for the group. Our order was promptly taken but it took quite some time for the food to come out...and the place was not crowded. My pulled pork sandwich w/slaw was good. It's my standard order. The folks who ordered the smoked turkey had differing experiences. One had a plate with very moist turkey. The other had turkey that was very dry. The person who had the rib platter thoroughly enjoyed it. BBQ spaghetti is one of the Neely's signature dishes and it is an acquired taste but the order was hot, with lots of good sauce that everyone enjoyed. Although our service was attentive and our drinks refilled when needed I noticed other tables were frustrated with inattentive service and the time it took for food to come to the table. We all know this isn't fast food, but this took longer that needed.

Family owned and operated since 1974. We specialize in Memphis BBQ and was featured in Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins. Labor day Marlowe's will be open at 4pm.
We arrived at Guest House for week-end. Called for Cadillac to pick us up for dinner. Just 2 of us. Place was not crowded and we were seated after we got picture with Elvis! We ordered a combination dinner with 2 meats and shared it. It was huge! We didn't want to take food back with us. Waitress was very sweet and helpful making suggestions. Good bar-be-que. Texas is still the best I think but Marlowe's took a close second!

If you want some good barbecue, go no further than here. Nothing disappointed. The ribs were great but that should be no surprise as Chef Melissa Cookston has won many competitions. Guy Fieri even did a show here. The food was great, the restaurant was nice and our server was wonderful. Don't forget to try the complimentary pork rinds served before the meal. You won't leave hungry!
