Reviews on Barbecue food in Pula, Istria, Croatia. Pula is situated at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula and is the area's largest city. Located beneath seven hills and with views of the Adriatic, Pula's unspoiled natural surroundings are magical. Known for its mild climate and tame, beautiful sea, Pula also has a long tradition of winemaking, fishing and shipbuilding. It is also home to many ancient Roman buildings, including the well-preserved, magnificent amphitheater.

We were visiting the nearly Roman amphitheatre and thought we'd try this grill based on it's reviews. It certainly lived up to expectations, the portions were generous and the mouth watering cevapcici were accompanied by chips/bread, ajvar and raw onion. We had a recommended side order of kajmak cheese which was sublime. The only slight disappointment was the waitress who wasn't particularly friendly and once our meal was served she never passed by again.

They were great up until this year, prices went up a lot, portions a bit smaller and food quality a lot worse. We waited for over an hour to get food. We all had fried calamari and all had bits of whiskers and legs from shrimps, when we told that to the waiter he laughed and said:"its all sea food". In last couple of years i went there alot but from now neither me, my friends or my family are coming here. Also the beer was warm.

We spontaneously went there and were surprised about the food quality. Had a plate with various cheese and meat which was already awesome. Then for the main course I had a steak with a truffles sauce which was just perfect, ordered medium rare and it was on point. Definitely recommend.

Relaxed atmosphere on the patio, great for families. Close to a busy intersection, but the heavy traffic stops if you use the cross walk. Nice menu of grilled meats and vegetables. We had the Obolo (thin pork cutlet), Raznjice and boneless chicken. The Raznjice could be a bit more tender, but everything was very good and big portions. The dinner comes with grilled pita or you can request pom frittes instead. Lovely server who was patient while we tested our Croatian skills, but she was skilled in English.
Both my bf and I had a pizza, they were both really tasty! Reasonable prices and friendly staff! I would recommend a visit here!

The food was excellent -- we had pizza as well as the mixed meat plate. The seafood pizza I had has been the best meal of my trip so far -- there was plenty of seafood on it! Service was wonderful - and they recognized us when we came back the second time. They speak German and English very well, but it is not a touristy restaurant.

Really great food, we enjoyed our time here. Adriatic calamari was fresh and very tasty, veal steak with pasta and mushrooms also great. Service could be little better, maybe it wasn't their day or to much people in that moment, they were little bit disorganized. Recommend!

Buzzy place in the heart of things. Despite having a touristy feel a night here is a very pleasant experience. Busy but pleasant waiting staff are pretty efficient. Smoked salmon starter was flavoursome and the spicy pizza to follow didnât disappoint. Fair value for money.
