Full Moon has a long, delicious history of great Southern-style 'que made in the time-honored, traditional way â with quality meats cooked low and slow over a hickory wood-fired pit and spiced with a mouthwatering, award-winning bar-b-que sauce. We are fa
Casual dining - order at counter and they bring food to table (they also have a drive thru.) Friendly and fast service. We ordered combo plates - brisket (a little dry), chicken (tender and juicy), collard greens (ok) and fried green tomatoes (overly greasy.). Added a Moon Dog (chow chow was tasty but actual dog lacked texture and flavor.) Bbq sauce was good - not too sweet. They serve beer and wine as well. It wasnât bad - just average bbq.
Stop at Dickey's for great southern barbecue in in informal setting. The food is excellent, the staff helpful and friendly, and the ambiance informal. Best of all, they didn't play any music to drown out our conversation and annoy us. The price is right, too. Did I mention the free soft serve ice cream? And the fried okra? Yum!

Small place where you order at counter and they bring your food out. Walls full of University of Alabama photos and new clippings. That itself was worth the visit. Ribs were tender but not a good bite. They fell off bone. Smoke flavor with minimal if any seasoning. Sauce was on the side and had too much cumin and or paprika for my taste. Cole slaw was sweet with too much mayonnaise (tends to be regional and maybe this is how they like it, but not for my South Carolina taste). Mac and Cheese was 100% velveeta, again not my taste. I got a pound of pork to go. It was slightly dry with no seasoning. It needed sauce to have flavor. I would not go back for BBQ.
and very attentive service. I had the chicken - was sliced breast meat - was excellent. The mac n cheese yummy and banana pudding great too. The service was too attentive - I had a drink refill offered every 3 mins. But - just a really good place. I'll be back.

This is more of a take it and go place. There is seating if you want to eat inside. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and onion rings. The chicken sandwich was ok! Small but didn't taste bad! I felt like I could buy the onion rings in Wal-Mart's freezer section and make then myself at home.

Went to the restaurant on a as-needed basis, I need supper. I saw this barbeque restaurant and drove in. It was spacious and about half full at 6:30 in the evening. I ordered a small barbeque sandwich with mac and cheese as a side. The serving size was good but the chicken was chunky cut and not real tender. The barbeque sauce was mild but seemed to lack a lot of flavor. I could tell by the number of people present that this was probably a notable local restaurant. I may have just missed out on the best this evening. The waitress was real nice, she came by a number of times and was busy with other customers. Overall this is probably a good place to eat but it just didn't connect with me this particular evening.

Ribs. Pork. Chicken. Brisket. Hell, even sausage. All BBQ has the same three basic ingredients: smoke, meat and time. What makes it different is the amount, consideration and attention to each part of that recipe. That, and some really great bbq sauce, to
First time in Tuscaloosa. We walked over to this place form our hotel and were not disappointed we did. Food was fresh and very good. Service was excellent. Portions were a decent size and priced right. We were glad to have found this place so close to our hotel. A good meal is always pleasant after a day of driving!

Look, if you want fancy dining, this isn't it. In fact if you anywhere near fine dining, this isn't it. However, if you ever want to experience true southern barbeque pit "joint", complete with cinder block walls, soot-blackened pit chimney, tattered screen front door, and most importantly some of the most make-your-tongue-drool barbeque ribs (southern style with tangy sauce), them this is your place. Served with a side order of both a combination of southern soul hospitality, mixed with I've- been-doing-this-longer-than-you've-been-alive attitude.
