In the area and wanted something other than "diner" food. Warm bread brought to the table was very good. My husband was very happy with his fish & chips - I didn't try it but it looked and smelled delicious. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger - cooked perfectly and yummy side of fries. Although it was busy, it didn't feel crowded. Menu had a nice variety and reasonably priced - can't wait to go back!

I don't know how this does not have all 5 stars. Food is great, beer selection is excellent, and servers are on it. General Tso's tacos rock, wings are not typical mass deep fryer style yet perfectly crisped. Go out of you usual loop and get some food and setting that blows away the typical crap in Bergen County.

Met up with an old friend for dinner and drinks. We were seated right away and our server took our drink order a minute later. The food was your typical bar food. We ordered wings, which were pretty good. I had the roast beef melt. It was ok. Next time I will try a burger. Overall it isn't a bad place.

Old barn dating back over a century. Was a speakeasy. Been going there for 50 years+. Rustic interior. Food is really good, both price and portions. Owner is always there to make sure you enjoy your visit. Place with a long history, the grandkids of original customers now go there. Definitely worth it.

Kirkerâs German American restaurant located in Hawthorne, NJ will bring back memories of a trip to Germany complete with Grandmas cooking. Our award winning Sauerbraten is simply wonderful with a rich Ginger Snap Gravy served with home made Red Cabbage an
I love eating at Kirker's. This place has good food and excellent service! The thin crust pizza is delicious! I highly recommend this place for German Food, home style cooking and tartufo the ice cream desert! If you get Melissa as your waitress, she is very attentive and the best waitress we have ever had.

I heard some things that wanted to break when they first opened, especially about the service. But they have plenty of servers now and the bartenders couldn't be more attentive. Drinks are very reasonable and there is nothing on the food menu higher than $24. And that was a special. Everything I've had there and I've been there three times has been excellent, and they keep dust out at Cellar temperature not refrigerated. They know what they're doing I only hope it doesn't get too crowded so I have a tough time getting in. LOL

Tucked away in the suburb of Hawthorne is this gem of a restaurant. Entering the parking lot your greeted by valet service making the visit comfortable unless your the type that prefers self-parking. The hostess was charming and seated us immediately. I recommend reservations. A full service bar that has a mixologist expertly making any drink you desire. After a few cocktails we began an assortment of appetizers and then our entree's. The filet was cooked with the exact temperature and delicious Their wine list is not so typical with varietals from Africa and other regions from around the world. An all around great experience.

My wife & I have been to Jimmy Geez numerous times and each time we enter with an open mind that the service and food will get better... unfortunately, they haven't. I will give credit where credit is due; their wings are the best around. However, we can't say that about the rest of the menu. The food appears to be prepared in advance and slapped together as my meatball sandwich, was not only dry to lack of sauce but the miniscule meatballs were obviously overcooked as they verged on black. As for the service, the wait staff are magicians as they appear and then disappear as it seems they are more interested in chatting amongst themselves or friends that happen to show up at the bar; rather then attending to their customers.. Again, in the spirit of fair play the bus boys are more attentive. Like I said this isn't the first time we have been to Jimmy Geez, it's a local bar that attracts a good crowd but the food and service struck out !

We came in for a quick bite. When we left we could hardly wait to come back. The variety was tremendous. Very good tacos and BBQ pork sandwich better than the south. Even the French fries were superb. We started with a gourmet quality lobster bisque. it is a bar room and the jukebox was noisy. Service was good.
